Emperor's Champion- Accept Any Challenge
Reclusiarch w/ Servitors and Terminator Honors
Reclusiarch w/ Jump pack and Melta bombs

20 Crusaders with Reclusiarch
5 Crusaders with some kind of Heavy Weapon

5 Crusaders with some kind of Heavy weapon

5 Assault Marines with meltabombs

How do I fill out any remaining points? Consolidate the Assault Marines? Mount
some troops in a transport? Dreadnoughts with anti-vehicle or Vindicators?

What I would try to squeeze in/leave points for:

Give the Reclusiarch w/ jump pack a PF.

Give your 5 man squads Las/Plas and maybe a Neophyte/spare wound.

Kit one assault squad for high priority target hunting. Some SS, a PF, and keep the jump chaplain with them. Give the other assault squad a couple of plasma pistols and leave as is for tank hunting, assaulting light infantry, and chasing routed units off the table.

Maybe get a couple of drop pod dreads to distract from your 2 mobs. That's what I use to distract from my LRC and 2 Rhinos and it works pretty well. For 300 points you get 2 Dreads with AC, HF, xtra armor, and a ticket to your enemy's backyard. They won't survive, of course, but you could force your opponent to deal with them instead of sending that high strength (probably low AP) dakka into your infantry. They are also great PF/PK magnets. Great for keeping your ICs alive since you didn't spring for the mantle (I personally never leave home without the thing, it saves my Marshal nearly every game).

However, for the same points you can get 3 Vindicators which are plenty distracting...but once your mobs start getting close to the things you want to shoot, it could get messy.

So you don't need to take shooty dreads?

I'm not all that interested in vehicles for now, if I can help it.

I have yet to paint a vehicle that I liked. My painting method is too streaky.

Your two chaplains are better suited leading both crusader squads to guarantee you control your Righteous Zeal. It might even be a good idea to use grimaldus so he can influence all the zeal! The dreads in pods are good as well.

The small assault squads and small shooty squads aren't really doing you any favors, and will run out of position if they zeal. I think you would be better served putting the shooty marines in drop pods with a melta gun, and do the same for the assault marines.

So..

Emp's Champ - Preferred Enemy

Chappy
20 Crusaders

Chappy (or Grimaldus)
20 Crusaders

Dread inna Pod
Dread inna Pod

5 Marines inna Pod
1x Melta

5 Marines inna Pod
1x Melta

5 Marines inna Pod
1x Melta

This also allows you to drop the boyz in on objectives as well.

I get orks too!

Thanks, Whitedragon.

I'll try to plan with some Assault marines since they come with the Battleforce for now.

EDIT: No problem Malfy! BT's really can run a nice horde!

If you are going to run the assault marines, a jump pack chappy isn't really a bad idea, it's just that the chaplains do so much more for your crusader squads. If you are going to use the assault marines, give them 8-10 men, give the one marine a power weapon vice a fist since he's not a sergeant and only will have 1 attack with it after the first round. Then spend the points to either take Krak or Melta bombs for the squad, so a walker can't tie them up.

O H I am in the Webway...

One thing I really reccomend to take it Black Templar assault terminators. Those guys are nasty!! Furious charge reroll to hit reroll to wound TLC are just nasty!

I found this interesting army

http://www.yesthetruthhurts.com/2009/02/best-of-black-templar.html

It kinda is based off of your list.

I did realize from it that BT's don't use the new droppod assault rules, they use the old ones! All this means is that you don't have to bring in half your army the first turn, thus giving the advantage against opponents who try to hold their army in reserve while your army pods Turn 1, then hits you hard from reserve. Instead, you can hit them with everything you got Turn 2 and they will have some units on the board for easy pickings.

For your list above whites, I pretty much have to agree with what he did. For what white suggested, maybe instead of those crusader hordes, you could take SB Termies with double assault cannons and run them across the field while your tank support drops in 2nd turn and busts it up bad and the dread pops in, which is quite scary, and then you got almost a hammer and anvil.

He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster and if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you
