For anyone that knows it used to be 50%. It has since been reduced to 30%. Even GW staff get cheaper mini`s by going through ebay

hydra mini's via ebay, 30% discount

after a few orders that gets brought up to 40%, not sure if its possible to get more yet lol

Used to be even better than the 50%

I once used my old Mail Order discount to buy Christmas presents, namely....

20 Chaos Terminators (old metal ones. This was about 7 years ago now!), 10 Screamers of Tzeentch, 20 Daemonettes (the Juan Diaz ones) and 10 Necron Pariahs, and I paid a grand total of £40 for those. I dread to think how much that would have been off the peg!

Termies - £5 each / £100 total
screamers - £4 each / £40 total
20 daemonettes - £5 (for 3) £33.50 (ish)
pariah - £4 each / £40 total

£213.50 total
nice savings

Was more than that I'm sure. Could swear the Termies were £6 a pop back then? Also suspect Screamers started out at £5 each.

Either way, I miss that discount. Seriously, you think GW prices are high as a customer? Try being a staff member for 18 months, then quitting and losing the discount. Does your head in!

nah, going back then they were only £5 me thinks, or the box of 5 (including reaper A.cannon and champ) was only £20

that would have been around the time screamers were released

and they were £4 each lol, gotta love my old mags

They say 10% discount, but via ebay you get 20%, and once you buy i think its 2 orders you get more discount, a friend of mine gets around 50% i think, ill get the link from him when i see him next.

Edit 2: after reading more into thier site they sell pretty much everything lol, worth checking them out

An old area manager that still has ties with the store. He also told me about the new prices on tactical squads. This guy is reliable as out. Hell GW paid him off cos he as area manager actually asked GW what they were thinking when they put the prices up and refused to listen to there staff

Yeah it was 50% and before that they could buy there mini's by weight from direct sales!

Imagine how cheap buying metal mini's is by weight of product alone!

When I was there it was 60% off everything with metal bitz being .20 a kilo.

When I was there it was 60% for boxes and 80% for bitz orders. That was 2 years ago.

Yeah, buying metal by the kilo was so so very nice. This was back in 1997 for me.

It's a better discount than any store I knew of, counting out gorilla tactics, but they closed down.....

Wow, quite possibly the only perk of being a GW saffer is now gone.

Factor in the price rise and the on-line dispcounts and staff are now no better off than the customers.

Without the discount I can't see how its possible to activly participate in the hobby on minimum wage. Unless you live at with your parnets and have no other outgoings.

GW can kiss the remaining decent staff they have goodbye.

Hell, I remember getting 2 Termies in a pack for £5, and they were even cheaper before then too. Mind you, go back far enough and you got 3 Rhinos in a box for £10.

Staff discount isn't worth the hassle of working in GW, I'd rather work elsewhere keep my worklife and hobby seperate.

Dunno about that. The discount still seems to be 50%. Just took this screencap i just took on the GW store with date to back up.

As you can see th £12 codex is reduced by 50% to £6

Maybe its just at your store they are limiting discount. Try buying online, it should be normal.
