So I've been a lurker for a few weeks now, steadily eating my way through your fine site's backlog of fun forum posts, intriguing articles, and delicious tactica.
I'm a longtime
WHFB player, and I've just begun to get into
40K with a different gaming group. I'm hoping that soon I'll be able to give some slightly useful input on some things I see around here, and I'm certainly looking forwards to being a member and not just a reader.
The mechanics stuff: I've got 3000 points of
VC and 5000 points of dark elves (both fantasy), and I've got a basic 1000 or so of Orks that I'm busy assembling, priming, and feeling my way through painting. I'm really looking forwards to playing orks, as I dig the 'mad max' feel and the very fast and loose fluff. Orks in particular feel like a very characterful yet unrestrictive kind of race to play as. My name is an army idea I'm toying with (for after I have the core of my force done and ready to go) about a converted army led by a Big Mek who, after being inspired by some looted music, gets it into his head that all the worlds a stage. The centrepiece would be a (core choice) Deff Dread converted to be a marching band drummer, with each unit being tied into the theme and converted with musical flair in mind (such as a Kustom Force Field mek with a large musical score hanging off of his wires, and a wierdboy in a bow tie, holding a baton as if conducting. The Weirdboy model reminds of of a few conductors I've seen)
So that's about it, my hopes, dreams, and aspirations all down on paper... I mean interwebstuff.
(Also, let's hope I get off to a better start than coming out of the proverbial closet with a rant about guns.

I hope that anyone I've offended can be placated with baked cookies sent in the mail.)
