Had an interesting rules query come up a day or 2 ago. My tyranid warriors engaged a hellhound in cc and struck it with bioplasma at I10. This caused an immobilized result. Would the rest of the (normal I5...with adrenal glands) attacks then automatically hit? I thought so, but the IG player was insistant that this wasn't the case. Please help me out with this one guys and gals...

I suggest reading this thread:

While the basic rules for attacking a vehicle seem to give two possible options when attacking a vehicle that is currently immobilized but which also moved in its previous turn, when you also factor in what the rules for 'assaulting a fast vehicle' on page 70 of the rulebook say you realize that it is pretty darn clear:

As soon as a vehicle is immobilized then attacks in CC hit automatically.

So yes, if you immobilize a vehicle at I10, attacks at a lower Initiative value would then hit automatically.

yakface's 40K rule #1: Although the rules allow you to use modeling to your advantage, how badly do you need to win your toy soldier games?
yakface's 40K rule #2: Friends don't let friends start a MEQ army.
yakface's 40K rule #3: Codex does not ALWAYS trump the rulebook, so please don't say that!

Yep you've got it right page 36 "...Work your way through the initiative values of the models engaged in combat ..." + "... models make their attacks when their initiative value is reached"
and when you get to the I5 attacks you look at the chart to hit vehicles. Immobilised = automatic hit so that what happens.

My point exactly...gives them a greater chance of hurting vehicles with the +1S and the fact it always hits on 4+ regardless of speed.
