Unfortunately, I left my actual list and codex at home, so the points aren't right on, but, since Warriors can be HQ, Elites, and Fast Attack, I thought I'd try my hand at a Tyranid Warrior overload list.

HQ
Flyrant - Wings, Scything Talons (x2), Toxin Sacs, Warp Field, Flesh Hooks ~180

9x Warriors 386
- 8 Deathspitters
- 1 Barbed Strangler
- +1 BS
- Toxin Sacs
- Extended Carapace

Elites
9x Warriors 386
- 8 Deathspitters
- 1 Barbed Strangler
- +1 BS
- Toxin Sacs
- Extended Carapace

9x Warriors 386
- 8 Deathspitters
- 1 Barbed Strangler
- +1 BS
- Toxin Sacs
- Extended Carapace

Troops
10 Spinegaunts Without Number 80
10 Spinegaunts Without Number 80

Fast Attack
8 Warriors 387
- Wings
- Toxin Sacs
- Adrenal Glands (Init)
- Scything Talons
- Rending Claws

Heavy Support
Carnifex ~ 185
- Scything Talons (x2)
- Toxin Sacs
- +1 W, +1 T, +1 WS
- Extended Carapace

That's 27 blast templates, with gaunts that can cower behind the warriors on objectives and won't leave me troopless when they die. I am aware that this army will have a tough time holding objectives, and my AT leaves something to be desired, but Ithink it would make for a fun, and potentially deadly, list.

what will you go against a landraider? Let alone a monolith...

I would drop the winged warriors for some more anti tank, you NEED 3 zoanthropes at least.

At 2000pts you will need a lot more anti-armor than you are packing.

Well, the Fex can take down anything armor 14 with ease, and the Tyrant is no slouch, either. In playing against Nids, I have found Zoans to be pretty lackluster, they need too many rolls to be able to hit an armor 14. For anything under 14, The flying warriors can take it down thanks to sheer weight of attacks and rend.

Having only 1 fex @ 2000pts to handle almost all anti-armour duties is probably going to hurt you. The fex will draw alot of fire from armies with AV14 as will your flyrant as those are the only real threats. Not enough threats to high AV armies IMHO. Also, you have only 2 scoring units so you are going to have a hard time holding objectives. Overall, I would say its pretty weak. Maybe scale down on the shooty warriors to balance it out with another guant squad and another fex (a cheap CC one to go with the FA warriors?)

London (work) / Pompey (live, from time to time)

Against anyone with armour that fex will be dead as soon as they start shooting.
if they know thats all you have to kill thier armour then they will be doing everything they can to kill it.

thropes are needed big time.

Suffused with the dying memories of Sanguinus, the warriors of the Death Company seek only one thing: death in battle fighting against the enemies of the Emperor.

That is a good point, Dracos. When I get home and get at my codex again, I will fiddle around with it and see if I can't improve the list.

After doing a little headmath, if I were to drop two Warriors from each Deathspitter unit, along with the barbed strangler from each, the points it frees up could give me two more fexes. If I drop one warrior from the winged unit, and take without number from the spinegaunts, then I can have 20 gaunts in each brood. So, it would look like this:

HQ
Flyrant - Wings, Scything Talons (x2), Toxin Sacs, Warp Field, Flesh Hooks ~180

7x Warriors 292
- 7 Deathspitters
- +1 BS
- Toxin Sacs
- Extended Carapace

Elites
7x Warriors 292
- 7 Deathspitters
- +1 BS
- Toxin Sacs
- Extended Carapace

7x Warriors 292
- 7 Deathspitters
- +1 BS
- Toxin Sacs
- Extended Carapace

Troops
20 Spinegaunts 100
20 SPinegaunts 100

Fast Attack
7 Warriors 342
- Wings
- Toxin Sacs
- Adrenal Glands (Init)
- Scything Talons
- Rending Claws

Heavy Support
Carnifex ~ 185
- Scything Talons (x2)
- Toxin Sacs
- +1 W, +1 T, +1 WS
- Extended Carapace

Carnifex ~ 185
- Scything Talons (x2)
- Toxin Sacs
- +1 W, +1 T, +1 WS
- Extended Carapace

Definitely more scary than the previous incarnation. I still feel like you are light on your scoring units though. Not being a NID player I guess I'm not 100% on that.

The focus of this list is the warriors, and I don't think Zoanthropes ae as good as people like to think. They have to make a psychic test, hit wih BS 3, then roll to penetrate, then roll the damage table. Statistically speaking, the odds are poor. On top of that, they have crappy range with their psychic attack.

I would rather have the 3 HS fexes, and as many warriors as I can cram in there.

So, after getting at my codex and figuring out exact point costs and everything, this is what my list looks like now:

HQ
Tyrant
- 2x Scything Talons
- Toxin Sacs
- Warp Field
- Flesh Hooks
- Bio-plasma
- Wings

9 Warriors 360
- 9 TL Deathspitters
- Toxin Sacs
- Extended Carapace

Elites
9 Warriors 360
- 9 TL Deathspitters
- Toxin Sacs
- Extended Carapace

9 Warriors 360
- 9 TL Deathspitters
- Toxin Sacs
- Extended Carapace

Troops
10 Spinegaunts Without Number 80
10 Spinegaunts Without Number 80

Fast Attack
9 Warriors 396
- Toxin Sacs
- Wings
- Scything Talons
- Rending Claws

Heavy Support
Carnifex
- Bio-plasma
- Bonded Exoskeleton
- Reinforced Chitin
- Extended Carapace
- Flesh Hooks
- Toxin Sacs
- 2x Scything Talons

TOTAL 2004

I probably should have mentioned earlier that this is not meant to be a particularly competitive list, and its focus is mostly on putting alot of warriors in there. In addition, There are no Necron players and very few Land Raiders at the FLGS, so this list shouldn't have to deal with that kind of thing too much.Between the fex, the flyrant, and rending flyers, I should be able to take out any vehicle threats that come my way.

That is because Zoes are not as good as people think due to bad threat range, bad ballistic skill, and only one shot. Unfortunately when it comes to High AV tank hunting, tyranid options are pretty weak. You got the gunfex (VC and BS) to keep said AV from moving or shooting and Zoes (enough said) . H2H fexes have to run across your opponets firing line and attempt to chase down moving objects (even with run, this still sucks...unless you are running 6 ninjafexes and thus creating target saturation...but you are not going that route).

I like that you are spamming DS warriors but I am not so crazy about the Flying H2H warriors (fragile). If you dropped the harpies alone that would free up some much needed points to expand your troop selection, which at 2000 points still seams pretty starved.

Another idea might be to drop the Flyrant and instaed break up your three 9 man warrior DS squads into 5 (2 HQ and 3 elite) 5 man DS Warrior squads which would be more manueverable, easier to deploy in terrain, allow you to engage more enemy units per turn, limmit the damage of having an opponent assault one squad, ect.
