Thanks for the replies. The legs with coats are narrowly winning at the moment. This project is quite a long way off, and I will not discontinue the original legs if people still want them.
Get your votes in as I will be making the decision very soon.

Here is a rough sketch showing the two different styles I am talking about.

The arms mentioned above are on the way. I have bought in some very special guest sculptors to work on some of these projects, very exciting

I like both idea's and as someone had mentioned on your Facebook page why not sculpt the one without first then use the same sculpt but add the jacket to it after.

I am glad to hear that the arms are on the way I see you have some guest sculptors on board, I hope they keep to your style so things match up still.

I got my order and all is great thanks for the heads I have ordered some more legs as for some reason I only ordered a set of each which was no way enough

The Caine mini was a nice sculpt and has a lot of character, however the blade got broken of in the post so you might want to package it slightly differently to protect future orders.

Overall great stuff (as all ways) looking forward to building these. Thank you

Must get back on facebook and vote.

From a converters perspective I'm inclined to think that lone dirty dogs right and having both options would be great, but that means more moulds and greater expense which may make it less viable financially. In that case to keep things simple I would think that just keeping them plain without the jacket would be the best option, that means they'll match the existing range expanding that, while if anyone does want a jacket bottom that should be a fairly easy item to add with only very little sculpting practice.

You could even do a tutorial on how to do so to help along those who needed it.

Thanks for agreeing with me but some people fear the GS and don't have the confidents to achieve the look they want, I understand the cost issue but I would be pretty sure that the turn around would cover the cost.

Also using the same pose but adding the jacket skirt after the first moulding would cut down on sculpting time, but doing this would give the customer an alternative look and greater options.

I was not to bothered about the kilt with jacket skirt at first I have to say, but after seeing the drawing I was sold straight away the reason for this I feel is the very different feel and look it provides.

The plain kilt has more a rustic feel easily used for gangers and soldiers alike, however once the jacket skirt is added it seems to give it a more dress uniformed look, but thats just MOI.

Thats why both would be a good option for me.

Thanks everyone who has put in suggestions about the new kilts, much appreciated.
Time to make a decision; It looks like I'll be doing both, starting with the plain ones.
The plain ones have won the vote very narrowly, but as mentioned I can go back and add the jackets.
These will be all be a fair way off release, there is lots to plan this year.
Cheers,
V

No worries this way I can save and buy more plus I am hoping this will be a long term project adding as I go also is there any chance of some alternative arms for the Rough riders ?

Maybe some varying rains holding arms and small armed weapon arms

Victoria, any ideas how well the victorian arms, etc stack up against non-GW models?

I'm considering possibly trying them with Warlord Games' plastic Brits.

Just want to say a BIG THANKS to Vic I only mentioned the blade issue so you had no further issues with it being broken in the post on new orders, as there was no need for my one to be replaced, although I was very happy to get another one in the post today So amazing gesture and thanks very much

Well With me adding Catachans to the pile of Guard on Friday via battalion, I just ordered a squad or so worth of Highland legs, and some backpacks to add to my third regiment, the Hellesvour 88th.
(Imagine a Scotland ravaged by Volcanos and you'll get an idea, will be wearing Orange urban camo. )

Looking forward to recieving them, and still waiting for those female Guard Vic.

Calling all Adelaide hobbyists. Just confirmed! Victoria Miniatures will be attending Bugle Call 2012, Adelaide June 10th and 11th. I will be there with the entire range, some great display models and of course plenty of cool "Show Only" deals.
I will also be joined by some top local hobbyists and we will be running a 'Bring & Paint' table. So if you would like to join us for some expert advice, just bring your latest project, paints, brushes and pull up a chair. Cutting mats, water and lights will be provided.
Or if you are able to help out as a volunteer, please PM me.
Hope to see you there, V

Nice shotgun! Best 3rd party shotgun I've seen yet. Hell, that's better than any of GW's shotguns since their OOP metal SM Scouts and Adeptus Arbites. Very nice!

Man, I wish there was a real Black Library where I could get a Black Library Card and take out Black Library Books without having to buy them. Of course, late fees would be your soul. But it would be worth it. - InquisitorMack

No really Vic that looks great love the paint job on him, it has made a fantastic miniature into a bloody fantastic miniature

The shotgun is a piece of mastery as well, looks great and will work so well with my use for these miniatures

I hope to see more great stuff to follow, maybe a pistol of description and a sniper rifle perhaps I would love to see some gas mask heads and some gas mask packs that could be added to miniatures all ready in production

Vic cant wait to more releases soon

Fantastic work Vic! Shotgun looks perfect and matches really well with the laser gun. Nice to see some full kits all put together and painted, who needs GW when you have such great sculpts right here?

That's a really great shotgun design, I like the additional studs giving it a bit more detail.

Incidently, I recently dusted off some Highlander bits and have started to use them again for Renegade Militia.

This body of work just keeps getting better and better. The Tannenberg Fusilier combination looks sharp.

The secret to painting a really big army is to keep at it. You can't reach your destination if you never take any steps.

Really nice design work. The dress caps are perfect for a project I've had in mid for quite a long time.

Does Victoria Miniatures have any USA distributors, or is it direct order only? I order from Eureka and Shadowforge on occasion, so no huge worries if you don't.
