Finally get to see casts of the metals

Can't wait to see how the Dragon turns out, that was one of the key draws for me.

Has anyone got a chance to play test the game a bit more?

Figs are looking really good. Dragon still looks a bit stiff, but I think it'll look great with my other TAGs. Kind of wishing I'd thrown in for that winged figure on the bottom right.

my only complaints of the minis so far are

the Dragon having a foot on top of a stone, just don't like it. His legs do look a tad bit stiff from certain views, I'll wait untill I see it in person before I lose my gak.

the Uruhvel vanguard models. While they are a great sculpts, the lack of armor sucks. 80 percent of their body is exposed. I can see doing that as a separate alternate model for display/collector purposes but part of a war game would like to see more armor.

I'm not saying avoid sexy, don't mind sexy but lack of armor when getting shot at kind of sucks.

Other than that the sculpts have been pretty damn good.

Unless I'm mistaken, the disassembled Dragon in that last picture above would have both feet very much on the ground!

I liked how they allowed people to swap out Vanguards for Vespidae in the Kickstarter, and I think I prefer their design anyway.

No idea what that means for stats though - may have completely unbalanced the force!

Hello everyone!

We finally have the first metal castings for Last Saga miniatures! You can check them in our last update:

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1318212665/last-saga/posts/1085589

The pre-order time of the post campaign is coming to its end! Thursday 18th will be the last day when the miniatures addons will be available, as we need to start with the production.

Hope you like!

Ingame they should work as Vanguards, the swap is purely cosmetic! Instead of the original bodies for the Vanguards, who desire it will receive the Vespidae bodies instead (without wings).

Thread necromancy!

I forgot all about this KS project I backed.

Apparently Zenit miniatures is picking up where Rocket Games have had so much unfortunate dealings and just bowed out.

Is Zenit a good company? I know of them but don't know much about them.

I think I chipped in 150 to 200 bucks on this. Perhaps I can finally get something out of this.

Probably don't have room in my life for yet-another sci-fi miniatures game (although I tend to have a habit of *making* room ) but the news of a peaceful "acquisition" and cooperation to deliver on the Kickstarter and then continue to produce the range bodes well for the industry. This and the Polyversal campaign to use multiple miniatures company's miniatures in one game are good directions for the hobby as a whole.

Did backers of the original campaign not receive their rewards?

Nope. They had all kinds of problems getting the casting done and the last straw was, I think, having the caster (2nd caster? 3rd? I don't recall now) produce too many of a few of the minis, none of the rest, keeping the money and going radio silent. This deal with Zenit will help ensure the backers get their pledges and hopefully salvage a future for the game.

Well, people who had stuff in that botched run did receive stuff. I had two figures in that batch. The casters may have royally screwed them, but the quality of those pieces they actually bothered to produce were surprisingly good. I'm curious if when Zenit gets around to production, if those of us who did receive some items will receive duplicates or not. With luck though, they'll hopefully begin production on those figures soon.

long story short

1st caster was a failure. Not sure how much money was lost but they quickly went onto a second caster in Germany, IIRC.

The largest chunk of funding went to this caster.

Several emails were exchanged regarding delays. He was sick, back logged, I think sick again.

Claimed he sent a package to Rocket Games, rocket games never got that package.

On this German based wargame news site http://www.brueckenkopf-online.com/?p=163066&cpage=1#comment-457578

there is an image of some complete miniatures. Some which were thought to have never been produced and definitely have never been sent. Question is, where did they go? Will Zenit be able to acquire the spin cast molds to make transition quicker?

I've never had an opportunity to view any of the models, but in terms of quality and posing, they seem to be in the ball park of Infinity. Anyone know the scale of them? They look 32/35ish?

I've said this a lot about everything.

Too many unplayed video games.

Too many board games (several book shelves)

Too many scifi and/or fantasy games.

To many historical minis games. 10mm and 15mm? Well I need to add 28mm to round it out. It's only logical.

Some how I always manage to get another. :p

But I do feel good about getting rid old/unused minis to supplement my habits.

I can't really post links on my phone, but check my Sci-fi gallery. I have a pic of my Council Tactical Officer next to some old and new Infinity Panoceania figures. He at least is somewhat on the large side. Probably about 32mm rather than 28mm. He seems better scaled to Dreamforge than Infinity, but I think he could still easily mix in with Infinity.

I guess a resurrection for those that still care, an update that says things will finally be send to those that backed it.

This is it! We’re finally getting ready to ship!

We will lock down shipping addresses in 7 days. That means you have a week to update your shipping address!

We are sending an email to all backers who has replied surveys and payed shipping so you can check if your address is correct.

If your address is OK, you do not need to worry, no action is needed.
Else, please reply to the email with the updated address.
We’re currently aiming to ship rewards on November/December. If you need, you can reach us through : ale@zenitminiatures.es

I wonder how many still care and how they will compare with the present level of 3D sculpting and casting.

Well, I had a pony in this race and I still care, for what it's worth. AS I recall, these were all 3D sculpts as well. The quality was pretty good, for what actually got produced. Zenit is supposed to have a decent track record, so quality should hopefully still be maintained. If they can maintain thequality and actually get these to retail, I would be happy to buy more.

Some were originally being sculpted traditionally, but the majority 3D. See a couple of clay figures on the main page. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1318212665/last-saga/description
At some point after the funding of the campaign it looks like they ditched the traditional and went full 3D, which didnt bother me much.

Many of the figures looked like they were being done by one of the sculptors who works either for or with Corvus Belli on Infinity.

That's the main reason why i bought in, the aesthetic rather than the game. I'm still stoked to get these figures. Just wish I could add more! I think I'll send an email and ask. The worst they can say is "No".

Sorry to raise from the dead, but just to say I received my pledge today. (Three starters and various add ons).

Casting generally seems good, one or two iffy lines including one across the face. Some poses seem a little flat, but I'm liking the aesthetic.

Hey, that's great news! Last I saw, Zenit had been flooded, which set back production and distribution. Glad they got things back on track. Did they send out a shipping notice at all?

They sent me a request for shipping costs, I paid and hadn't heard anything approx 1 month later so emailed. No response but a parcel arrived a few days later.
