Who in the list can take Aux Krak Launchers? It's not grouped in with other Special Weapons. I was thinking anyone with a lasgun, but I'm not sure.

What rules do I use for Rocket Pods and Hellstrikes on Valkyries, Imperial Armour or IG codex? Obviously it was intended to use IA before since it was the only set of rules but now they're in the IG codex. The beginning does say to use codex wargear for Characters but the list makes no mention of where to find the rules for missiles or rockets.

You use either the IA List or the IG list, you don't mix the two.

But could anyone use the under slung Grenades ?

As you've been told - one or the other, don't mix lists and options (unless you're allowed to like with DH or WH).

So use IA (including all of its rules for the IG things) OR come up with a list using codex IG and its rules for stuff.
Bear in mind, I don't think the IG sentinels can use multimeltas on their sentinels.

As to the grenade launchers, I don't know. My copy of the book is currently in my club's (lockable) cupboard.

I have the D-99 IA book and it just states the Aux Krak Launchers in war gear like the Lascutter which is used by the squad. And states it can be bought but then the Aux Krak Launchers are not mentioned excpet in the Arm. ?

Yeah, it's pretty ridiculously vague.

But you have to remember that the old style codices just had a general wargear section which only characters could purchase from. If you look at the sample D-99 army lists they have in the book you can see that only characters (vet sergeants and officers) have the underslung grenade launcher so I think it is pretty clear that it is an 'armory only' kind of thing (only those models that can pick form the armory can take it).


With that said, I wouldn't allow you to play this army anymore and I don't think any tournaments that used to allow it will not let you use it anymore (like the Gladiator at Adepticon). That's because it is not a fully stand-alone list. It has no weapons stats or armoury rules and just kind of assumes that you'll refer back to the IG codex to fill in the cracks which doesn't work anymore because a lot of the gear has now disappeared.

For example, in that list "All officers have access to the Imperial Guard armory". Awesome! What's that? . . .well crap.

So long story short, you can use the new codex to make a very similar style D-99 list. Although they can't all Deep Strike (boo-hoo) you can take max Valkyries/Vendettas and all Veteran troop choices with Demo charges, so it is still a pretty sick list.


If you do find someone willing to let you use the D-99 list you're going to have to refer back to the OLD codex to make it work (cause that's where Imperial Guard armory is with corresponding point values).
