Just a simple question from a begining builder/converter.

Wouldn't it be cool to convert the Throne of judgement to the Emperor of mankind on the golden throne.
I mean if the Iquisitor gets a moving throne why not give it to the emperor and use his might in combat.
The servitors could be stripped of and replaced by bottles/pipes/etc to feed the dying man.

It's been suggested before.

There are two problems with it:
For one, the machinery that powers the Golden Throne and keeps the Emperor 'alive' takes up most of a whole wing of the Imperial Palace. Fitting it all onto a Dreadnought chassis is going to be a tad problematic.

And for two, while the Emperor was still lucid and responsive when first entombed, over time he grew more lethargic and eventually stopped communicating. He still powers the Astronomican, and it's believed that his spirit wanders the Warp doing good deeds and the like... but that's pretty much the extent of his involvement with the real world.


Not saying don't do it... but last time around most people weren't fond of the idea, simply because it goes against too much established fluff. So you would need to come up with something to get around that.

and the stupid high lords of Terra wont revive him, because they dont want to lose power.

I think building him in his throne (a small section of it lol) would be an amazing idea. Build the throne itself in the throne room with him on top of it, it would be cooool.

I think thats a pretty cool idea model wise, story wise however it would be a bit hard to pass off... Although the thought of all the modelling potential that could be put into that model is pretty awesome. Question is, would the throne of judgement really be big enough? :S

Not really I guess, but maybe it would be a short support system. Like an ambulance, they can't keep you alive forever in one of those but they can do some basic stuff.
Story wise it wouldn't really work. And the Throne is slightly expensive and considering it is made of metal will make it harder to convert.(never did anything with a metal model yet, can because I don't have any.)
Still, I do have a dread laying around waiting to be magetized(legs to torso) So scratch building something like the throne would solve the expansive and converting part.
