I know this has probably been answered a million times, but as I never used drop pods in my army I disregarded much of the rules related to them. The question is this: does a drop pod's special rules prevent it from having a deep strike mishap if it scatters off of the table edge?

Well, is off the Table Impassible terrain or other models? No it isn't, so the Rules don't help it.

thought I remember somewhere that the table edge was considered impassible terrain to all but fleeing and pursuing units.. But that maybe my addled mind mixing WHFB into 40k..

Quite Possibly If it were then models couldn't move onto the board from reserve (as they start off the board touching the edge of it)

Wait, are you suggesting that there aren't paradoxical and/or contradictory rules in 40k?

There are, but this one is cut and dry.

If it scatters off the board, it's a DSM (Deep strike mishap), just LIKE if it was impassable terrain (the edge is NOT impassable, though).

If it scatters into anything else, then its special rules kick in.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
