hello,

I have a battle with my O&G against a friend's HE going on as I type this. I targeted his mounted mage who is with his DP and after scatter hit the mage smack in the mouth! Woo hoo! But then came the hit allocation...

D6 S5 hits, against a mage with 5 dragon princes are they resolved:

a) all against the mage as that is what was hit.
b) all against the dragon princes as there are at least 5 RnF models so the mage cannot be hit
c) something else

Please help as we are unable to figure out the wording amicably. Also any references would be fantastic as I have read and re-read the rules but can't seem to find an exact ruling, but often miss important things.

cheers, red.

B) All against the Dragon Princes.

Unfortunately, you cannot specifically allocate hits from shooting attacks unless specifically mentioned.

Some people play to win, some people play for fun. Me? I play to kill toy soldiers.

See my friend says that, but a doom diver is targeted like a Stone Thrower which actually hits what it... well hits. The character then gets a "look out sir!" roll.

That is how I would have play it but then there is no template so it is slightly different to a stone thrower, hence the confusion.

The 'hit what is hit' rule only applies to the template itself. Doom divers use no templates, they just do a number of hits, so yes, all hits are against the DP.

Big enough to have a fall down template. Yup, that's me!

Like Gobstomp says, it only applies when he uses the template. Rather, it is distributed ad D6 hits, which does not require a "Look Out, Sir!" roll, as it is allocated to the RnF infantry.

It is only fired like a stone thrower.

Did the Dragon Princes have a Champion? If so then you SHOULD have allocated hits evenly, which if you get all 6 means 4 on RnF, 1 on Champion and 1 on mage
