I finally managed to get some pics of my avatar that I'm happy with. Please let me know what you think of him.





I also finished this wraithlord for a commission. I had to go by a pic of one of his other wraithlords for the color scheme. That's why it doesn't look quite "conventional eldary". I think it looks pretty good, though. It's the old metal wraithlord so there was quite a bit of conversion work, cutting of thumbs and cussing involved.

I made the model, offered it up in the swap shop and he asked me to paint it for him. The original wraithlord is way too boring. This is the pose that I decided on that looks the best without looking like it will shatter if you breath on it funny. He's still taller and bulkier than an avatar so I don't think it's weedy at all.

If you use the same color talus, you should toss a couple of different washes in different places and some differing drybrushing.

I'm not a big fan of doing all talus bases at all. It's almost impossible to make them look good no matter what you do. Usually I just put some flock on top in spots to make it look mossy. This is what he wanted, though, so it's what I gave him.

Because the first one went over so well I figured I'd make another crouching wraithlord. I think that this one turned out much better. It's painted in an Yme-loc scheme.

I tried to put him into an aiming position but I couldn't get it to look right. I'd have to cut it up and completely resculpt the hands. I might try that next time.

It's still taller than an avatar. To be honest I've tried several different poses and the kneeling position is the only one that doesn't look slowed. Especially when you try to equip it with two weapons. The BL/EML setup is the only way that I'd ever field a wraithlord. As you can see it's a bit challenging to make it look right...
