ive never painted IG,so heres my go at it.I was inspired by my fathers old vietnam pics of his platoon,thus is why my straps are tan. thanks for looking and hope to hear some input of what you guys think

I love it, im just not a fan of the flowers on the base.

The model is great very real - just how i like guard

flowers flowers of death i used them for the jungle floral described in the book, how all the plants are poisin and such so yes they are flowers but flowers of death

The flowers 'of death' will be a great thing to use to tie the army together, especially if you make some terrain peices in the same style.

The guard guy looks great, nice painting.

Best Catachan I have seen in a long while.

Even though I understand the rational behind your “red flowers o death”, they really detract from your model. The solid, glossy, red flower keeps pulling my eye to his feet and not at the figure. As a suggestion you could pull a couple of the flowers off so that it does not look like he is standing in a flower garden. Also, some quick brush work on the flowers would kick them up a few notches, and make them more realistic. They almost look like Lilly’s from their shape, so you might just do an image search on yahoo for some that you like.

Question: is this figure made using parts from the new command box only? Or are their regular boxed set plastics there too?

I am definatley not a fan of the Catachan minis,but you made yours look fantastic...nice work.

I dont mind Catachans to much but some of them I just dont like the colours for example: I dont mean this as racist but all the 'black' catachans are too dark. I know there is alot of people with that darker skin but they are all painted the exact tone and yet they have pasty people in there.

So I'm glad you didnt make him pasty or really dark. Its more realistic to a point. By the way, nice shading on the muscle.

Great stuff. If you ignore the high tech gear that could fit in a vietnam diorama.
