I was playing a game earlier today and something came up where my vehicle's rear armor was shot at by a Tau Railgun, seeing how my rear armor is 10 and the Tau Railgun Strength is already a 10, does he automatically penetrate me? If not, does a roll of a 1 fail or does it count as a glance instead?

I cannot find this in the 5th ed rulebook anywhere. If you know it's in there, a page number would help.

There is no auto fail on a 1 v Armour.

Railgun into rear armour 10 is an auto-pen (lowest result is an 11).

it'll auto pen but you should declare "The gun has auto penned so im just going to roll straight onto the penetration chart" otherwise you might roll a six and your opponent could go "I thought you were rolling to pen"

alternatively just roll to pen and then roll on the penetration chart anyway.

I don't know. Whatever the case, it's pretty horrible having your rear railed.

2) No, a Roll of one does not make it an Auto Fail. A S10 Weapon will auto Penetrate AV10 if it hits. You just need to roll the dice as a formality.
