Okay so, I was wondering if there's any way at all to make washes yourself? I got a few ultramarine blue paints laying around so I wouldn't mind using them as wash.
So does anyone know? Any help would be appreciated :]

Try folowing the instructions in the how to paint space marines book. Talks about adding water, soap, and/or PVA glue to mixtures and they form wash properties.

I think if you water that down enough it could be used as a wash.
Welcome, but this should not be in this forum maybe in the painting and modelling section,as this being the tutorials section I expected to find a tutorial and was a bit disapointed when I saw it was not.But it is you're first post so you weren't to know.

Yup, mix soapy water with the paint. Bit by bit until it gets the consistency your looking for. Presto, you got yourself a wash

Actually, I've heard people combine UM Blue with the Dark Blue Wash (unsure of the name). Apparently, when done right, it comes out the same color and is a one-time coat.

Agreed with the soapy water paint mix.

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

Soapy water and paint works, and if you paint it over a gloss coat you can even wipe off the excess when it's dry then give it another clearcoat to seal it.
Right now I managed to approximate the feel of the new generation GW washes with Matte medium mixed with water and an appropriate coloured ink. Dries to a matte or satin finish, covers well.

Try this , http://www.brigademodels.co.uk/Frames/Gaming/Aeronef/ModelPaint/MagicWash-content.html or this http://www.paintingclinic.com/clinic/guestarticles/magicwash.htm , can work really well. I use it all the time. The only thing I don't like about it is the finish can end a bit too glossy. Nothing that a coat of satin varnish won't fix though.
