Apparently GW doesn't ship primer to islands so I'm looking for an alternative to the GW brand Chaos black primer for my models. Any suggestions?

I think if spray paint is the right thickness and such it could be used.

I'm not sure which one that would be. There's no spray paint on this island for me to test.

There are brush-on primers.
Do you have ANY model stores (NOT a GW store?) on this island? They might stock something. Even if it's only a Tamiya brush-on primer, it's a start.
Although, if you have an auto-parts store on the island, see about getting an auto primer.

An island in the middle of the Indian Ocean. There's no model store, auto part stores or anything that sells stuff for making models. So I need to figure out what I can order online and have shipped. I'm going to look into that brush-on primer, thanks Chrome Dog.

Diego Garcia. It's just a military base on an island. No locals, no outside stores, just the base store which doesn't have anything I can use for models. Thanks for trying though.
(It's actually a lot nicer here than the post sounds.)

take a look about 80% down to the bottom (or search the page for the word "primer") for an example of the brush on stuff. it's a great site for model comparisons, minis photography, and hobby tips but, alas, will never be updated again. luckily, it's still there as a reference.
