The USA

So a while ago my father was driving home from work when a car blew a stop sign and totaled both cars.

The other driver didn’t even try to stop... just blew the sign and my fathers car nailed them in the front drivers side.

And now, as a result of being hit, my parents will have several thousands in debt piled on top of them... why you ask?

The insurance company of the other driver’s car says that my father’s car is worth around 3k... it is a 1996 ford taures with a hair over 50k miles on it. my parents went out car shopping and the only thing they found that was close to that offer was another ford taures (not sure on year) but with 100k miles, and for 5k (another two thousand on top of the insurance companies offer and TWICE the miles)

They looked around for a comparable car (excellent condition, around 50k miles) and what they saw was that they were going to be paying around 7k.

the insurance company keeps telling them that "car in your area with that kind of miles on them are going for 3k"... that is bull gak, my father told them what the prices where and that if they could find a comparable car for 3k then he would take it... they cant find one because one doesn’t exist.

And to top it off, the insurance company only paid for a rental car for a week...

All my parents are wanting, is to have a comparable car to replace the one that was lost… they are even willing to take a care with more miles on it… they just need a reliable car to drive around. AAA insurance will not offer them that, instead they keep telling them

“You are going into more debt because our client hit you”

What have I learned from this story… to NOT get my insurance from AAA.

The goal of insurance is to provide less coverage for more money, just look at HMO's

It's a total scam. The only way to be reasonably compensed is to claim you were injured.

Insurance companies suck. I have the legal minimum car insurance. If it's not enough and I get sued, that's hilarious. They can have my 40K minis and my paperback books.

Call a car wreak lawyer

And whilst you're pointing and shouting at the boogeyman in the corner, you're missing the burglar coming in through the window.

Well, Duh! Because they had a giant Mining ship. If you had a giant mining ship you would drill holes in everything too, before you'd destory it with a black hole
