Okay, just wanted to see if I'm missing something. I was playing an ork player who moved his truck 12 inches (what I'm assuming is cruising speed) and then wanted to fire all of his weapons from the truck.

Now I don't have my ork codex on me so if there is a rule that allows them to do this just let me know.

However, due to a truck being a fast open top transport vehicle should the passngers be allowed to fire when it moves at 12 inches?

When I look at the transport rules it talks about firepoints and saying that the passangers can fire if the vehicle moves at combat speed.

Then I go to the open top rules and it says nothing about everyone being able to shoot at cruising speed?

So I guess there are two questions:

1. Is an ork truck moving 12 inches considered moving at cruising speed?

2. Can passangers in an ork truck moving at cruiser speed fire?

No, they can only fire if it moves 6" or less.

This is a subtle change from 4th ed. Many ork players have it wrong.

well 7" and shoot or 13" disembark and blast things. this isn't really new and a lot of ork players DO mess this up. makes the rest of us look bad

Essentially FAST vehicles do not replace the bandings they move at, only get permission to fire as if one band lower. The rules for embarked passengers only let you fire if moving up to 6", and do not contain exceptions for "fast" vehicles.

Put the two together and you find that, while fast vehicles themselves can fire more weapons when moving faster than non-fast, the passengers inside are treated exactly the same.

you're generalizing, it actually reads more like:
'Passengers can use a vehicles fire points if the vehicle has moved combat speed'
But my trukk has zero fire points...

"Sorry boss if we move this fast we don't have time to shoot at them from the back of the trukk,
but if you give us some time to disembark we'll have plenty of time to shoot and we'll do an assault too."

Yes, it has zero Fire Points, because the rules for Open topped say they instead allow everyone to fire instead.

I'll put this in here because it's about firing out of an Trukk. Can twelve burna boyz fire out of a truck? If so this just seems extremely broken, yes it's template, yes its an av 10 vehicle. That all said it's pretty much ID to anything that it comes close to.

Yes. And yes it's very nasty to drop 12 templates on a squad.

It's even better (or worse depending on your perspective) if the burna boyz are in a BW that has tankshocked the enemy unit into a nice little clump before hand.
