Hello.

I just finished a 1200 point game against my roommate.

I was running 10 Nobz with Twin-Linked Shootas, Big Choppas, and 'Eavy Armour, a Warboss with a Cybork Body, Power Klaw, Twin-Linked Shoota, and Bosspole, a Trukk with a Wrecking Ball and a Reinforced Ram, 8 Lootas, 25 'Ard Boyz (1 Nob with Power Klaw, 1 Big Shoota, 1 Rokkit Launcha). Nobz and Warboss on the Trukk, and two units of 3 Deffkoptaz with twin-linked Rokkit Launchas.

Roommate was fielding a Defiler, Chaos Dreadnought, unit of Khorne Berserkers, unit of regular Chaos Space Marines, unit of Possessed Space Marines (Rending Claws), a unit of Terminators, and a unit of Raptors, with a Chaos Lord Raptor guy.

Lootas stayed back, flashing the Khorne Berserkers out of existence and taking a serious toll on the Chaos Dreadnought (blew up the plasma blaster) and the Terminators. Trukk sent the Nobz and Warboss into battle, who then basically Assault-hopped from one unit to the next (raptors, possessed, terminators) to stay out of the way of the Deflier's Cannon. Boyz marched their way sadly across the field, taking heavy losses from the Cannon (they make a nice juicy target). Rokkit Launcha boy even managed kill a terminator (I was proud). Deffkoptaz performed admirably, softening up the Raptors and taking out the Dreadnought Attack Weapon on the Dreadnought before dying to a Kannon shot, vaporizing them instantly.

Bill's forces were plasma heavy, and between that and the 1s rolled by the Dreadnought, took some pretty heavy losses himself.

Finally, after my Nobz and Warboss took out the remaining Terminators, leaving them vulnerable, a final shot from the Kannon (which was now within Assault range of the Nobz/Boss) scattered six inches away, flying harmlessly into the field. He gave up.

Orkz triumph again.

You should try using some terrain other than the few macragge bits you have there. You will find it can really make the battles much more fun and exciting. Having things to maneuver around and block line of sight makes things much more challenging IMHO.
