Hey all this is I believe my second time submitting conversions of my own on here. Please feel free to give criticism its the only way ill improve. Im aware of the obvious flaws that need green stuff and will be filling and filing before paint is applied. Hope you enjoy!

MY CUSTOM HEAVY BOLTER TEAM.
Gotta love these Guys I was messing around with some guard and space marine bits at the time and got this. I love how it looks and I am aware it is a bit off center but the hell with it when this bad boys ripping through your infantry Ill be laughing at who is off.

PROTOTYPE ORK FIGHTERS
Okay well the story behind these bad boys is that my army is at constant war with orks above all else. So I figured that some nut job after being abandoned on some remote planet in a hopeless campaign would do some experiment with ork DNA and Human DNA and here you go super guard! Drawing on their ork enemies survival skill the influences are apparent.

WoW!!!1!1!11one!1!

I love the idea, but I'm going to have to wait until I see some paint on it to pass judgement. Fluff wise, it's TOTALLY in the 40k universe, and fits nicely. At the moment, without colors it's hard to "see" the finished product. It looks weirdly out of scale. File down the mold lines, and get even just some primer on there and maybe a quick drybrush soz we can pick out some details. (or you know, just paint the whole thing. Whatever's cool.)

But yeah, I love the idea. I think it would be esp. cool if you gave them flesh tones, but maybe painted the veins green...like they've got orc blood coursin through their veins! Or maybe give them green highlights.

Keep it up! Can't wait to see how these come out!

I think its pretty cool, but for the Ork guys, you gonna paint them green or normal human skin colour? i think i'd reccomend a skin colour with a green tint to it, maybe by applying a wash or something. That way people would see they werent just super buff body builder men

Look at the size of 'em!

I don't like either of them. You can do better. Great idea but bad follow through. A conversion should never look like you put a human head on an ork body. It also shoulding look like the front of a bike.

Try using some plasticard to make metal parts instead of just throwing things together. You'll get a better product.

Thankyou very much I love the criticism . As I said the arms are going to be filed down a bit they are supposed to be part ork. Front of a bike??? I dont know I was going for a rough human imitation of the orks so that was wanted. Thanks for the tip ill try that next time

Let me be a little more clear.

Orks are not humans so they can't be half human orks. Just doesn't happen. Also if they were the Imperium would have them killed to the last halfork.

The Heavy Bolter one.
The top is off center and looks terrible. The dark angel bike front looks dumb and blocks LOS to the shooter. Again you should fix this. Use plasticar to make it look boxy. It will look 100% better.

Lascannon thing.
Ork head on the side of the gun looks terrible. The arms are way to big even if you file them down.

You still have the sprue pieces showing on the models. They have to go or you will not have a good product.

As for your attempt at humour it is lost. If you can't take the criticism then don't post on here. I'm not going to jump on the band wagon and say something is good when it is not.

Again A for effort and a D for end result. I would start over and use plastic card to fill in the blanks instead of random bits.

If Orks are some sort of mushroom, then these are just guardsmen with a VERY bad case of Athelete's Foot....erhm
Really nice conversions here, definitely break up the monotony of the Heavy Weapons teams. Get some paint on em, NOW!

And obviously there's no point to doing anything that doesn't conform to the official fluff... Besides, I think the 40k universe has plenty of room for genetic experimentation by "mad scientists." And some forsaken broken world seems a legit place for them to get away with it, the imperium isn't omnipresent. I mean c'mon. That's like saying humans can't have organs that make them spit poison implanted in them. Doesn't happen. Well no sh** sherlock, it's science fiction.

Could you point out where the attempt at humor is? He said in the original post that he welcomed criticism, it's the only way to get better. He thanked you, explained why he chose the huge arms and bike-front part, and said he'd try yo advice in his next conversion (I'm guessing by his former post of "i know it's off center but I still like it" or something to that bent that he's not about to bother tearing apart the current one.) So where are you getting this attempt at humor? Is it simply the fact that the thumbs up dude at the end is silly looking? Could you point me toward Dakka's "serious" emoticons? I really believe he was honestly just thanking you for the advice, but obviously something ruffled your feathers as your tone completely changed in your next post.

Your first post here was great. It was honest, useful criticism and at least somewhat polite. Your second post... well it's a shame because it's full of excellent advice, but will probably fall on a lot of deaf ears because you decided to switch from a tone of "I want to give good advice to help you get better" to "you pissed me off so I'm going to use my superior modeling knowledge to CUT YOU DOWN!" It's a shame. I hate seeing people take an invite to criticism, which is meant to be geared toward learning and improvement, and use it as an excuse to deliver a beatdown or get a powertrip.

The way I read it was differently then yours. I seen it as condincending. He planned to have it look this way. Was to me blowing it off.

He can fix both models before he paints them.

As for the others that say things about fluff. It drives me crazy that people try to bring their own bullcrap to the table. These guys are angels. These guys are butterflies. (Yes I have seen a stupid Nid army that had butter fly wings on the warriors. They were also painted florescent green and pink.)

I can kind of understand a zombie IG army. No not really. But going for half ork and half human is not even possible. If by any possible way a human had chaos corrupt him to make anything, it wouldn't be an ork/human. They would make Chaos Spawn.

Even this guy made an IG army that had to scrounge all of it's weapons I wouldn't mind seeing parts from any army. Even though by fluff it be against the Imperium.

Again my only point in all of this is to never just throw stuff together to make a model. When in you come to a piece that needs a part, try to use plastic card to make it instead of using something that just doesn't belong. ie The bike front the way it was used.

If he had put the bike front as it should be on a bike and had the guns sticking out the opening it MIGHT have looked cool. Putting it on the way he did looks silly.

I'm not being mean. I'm just being critical. The game does have some people that have higher standards for painting and converting. I'm just one that expects to see a conversion that was well thought out and not just thrown together.

I too find the orks arm too big for human.
If you want big arms, buy a box of catachan.
You will have plenty of big arms

Half Human and Half Ork is a combination that seems possible to me. I am a avid DnD player and Half-orks are a valid race in a fantasy universe so why are they not possible in a highly advanced 40k one?

As for humor I meant to offend no one I was simply saying thanks to you straight comment, you saw something you didnt like and told me so, big deal Im not gonna get mad your entitled to an opinion.

This is a pretty low level conversion (only my second) done without plasticard, green stuff, ect. I plan to make future conversions much better.

As for peoples standards Im not making my conversions to impress anyone I could care less if everyone hated them. I simply posted them here to see how I could make them better and I am happy to be getting praise and advice.

These models will get a overhaul with time new arms, centering, filing, and green stuff in time my cash is very limited thus are my resources.

Thanks all,
