At one time you could use True Grit with combi bolters.

I think in an FAQ they took that away.

Under the current rules, what can you use TG with in the Space Wolf Codex?

And by combi bolters I mean combi plas, melta, etc.

.Only a fool believes there is such a thing as price gouging. Things have value determined by the creator or merchant. If you don't agree with that value, you are free not to purchase.

I don't think you could use it with the Combi-Bolter whose rules are given in the space wolves codex, since it is never said to be a bolter really. Infact that whole item doesn't really have enough rules to be used.

I think the other combi weapons that refer to codex space marines would work though since they definitely imply the model has a bolter in addition to a single shot of the secondary weapon, and since they have a bolter, they can true-grit with it.

Interceptor Drones can disembark at any point during the Sun Shark's move (even though models cannot normally disembark from Zooming Flyers).

i don't have the codex handy with me but, if when it fires it uses the stat line of a bolter, it should get the true grit benefit.

The only information given about the Combi Bolter weapon in the space wolves codex is.

"Once per battle it can be fired as if it were a storm bolter."

which suggests that, you can shoot it once in the entire game, and that firing uses a storm bolters statline, that is all the weapon does, I doubt this is RAI, but it's certainly what is written.

The above is a collection of strange rambling that has nothing do to with the rules.

True Grit gives a bonus to models with a bolter.

So does the model have a bolter? No, he has a combi-bolter. A combi-bolter is not a bolter therefore no benefit for him.

However, it was previously FAQ'd to say they Combi Weapons DID work with True Grit. I think thats what is causing the confusion

I seem to recall that GW said that if the rules aren't in the rulebook they revert to the codex version.
In the SW codex it says that True Grit may be used with combi- (but not storm) bolters.
Seems to me theres no question.
As for the stats, remember SW still bases its weapons on SM (otherwise our AC would be heavy 3 without rending) thus we have the same rules for combi's as they do.

The first printing of the SW codex doesn't include the use of combi-bolters with True Grit.

The second (and any subsequent) printings of the SW codex do specifically include combi-bolters with True Grit.

Thanks GW.

Yeah, Stealth 2nd printing of Codex: Furry Marines (How I love them so!) let you use Combi Weapons with True Grit But not Storm Bolters.

Not that it will matter for long, as Space Wolves are soon to become a boring Grey Nilla List with perhaps 1 or two interesting features (omg we get Chaos Marines with ATSKNF for 20 Points? YAY!)
