So, how hard is it to use the "Weapon Pack" to outfit the basic troops for Elysians? Is it possible to put the guns in their hands without it looking odd? Does it take a ton of GS work? What is the quality level on those guys?

Obviously, I can't make up my mind on what guard to invest in, so do excuse all these random threads on this sort of stuff.

It's dead easy, no problem at all The minis go together well in my experience, just your normal resin cleanup and the like. You should end up with some spare arms in each pack you buy, I have a fledgling guard army of about 35 built up from a necromunda gang

anyway i think, if your going to forge world i would go to DKoK but the Elysian look pretty decent, post up some of your work when you have got some process!

Well, I am going AirCav. That sorta shoots that in the head. I am huge on the whole Gasmask look, though, so renegades or Death Korps work. To be honest, the Renegades are pretty cheap and would give me a chance to do more fluid painterly stuff.

If you like gasmask heads and don't want to dish out for the FW you can go with the Pig Iron heads. They have Kolony Rebel heads (http://www.thewarstore.com/product29987.html) which look plenty Chaos-y if you're going for a Renegade Guard army. You could also use the Militia heads (http://www.thewarstore.com/product29988.html) if you just want more loyalist looking gasmasks.

There's a bit of fluff in the new Guard Codex with a combined Catachan/Elysian force using Valks in the Jungle...
