Title speaks for itself. I generally only use the gw black primer, but neither of our local stores have any in stock. What would you guys recommend that will cover both plastic and metal? Thanks for your help.

All I can say is make sure the can says primer. I believe someone posted on here an article, (I think from wee toy soldiers) about the performance of primers, & flat black paint doesn't work so well as a primer coat.

I call it "Hill Billy Paint" because it is the only set of auto camo-sprays that I know of, and you can't go down any of the back roads without seeing at least one truck, jeep, sport utility, Thunder Bird, or Honda Civic with a home paint job from them.
Krylon Camouflage Black. Very flat color, easily repainted, almost the same as Chaos Black. Their OD Green is almost a perfect Catachan Green, their OD Brown almost a perfect Scorched Brown, and although I haven't tried it yet, the Desert Tan is probably a pretty good Bleached Bone.

Fat black spray paint, krylon is a good one. Make sure you look at the cap because that will be what it looks like when it dries.

"Hillbilly paint" I like that ,honestly,Krylon Camoflage Black works real well & as Skinnattittar said is similar to GW Chaos Black.
Alternatly I have used automotive "trim black",a quick drying flat black use for coverage on the trim of vehicles,I discoverd this stuff on the job and have since used it to prime several models with amazing results,a can (same amount floz content as GW) can be purchased at most automotive supply shops (auto zone) for around $8.00 dollars.

Ok picked up some Krylon. It provided nice coverage and it had a handy tip that allows you to change the spray from horizontal to vertical. This was nice because when I sprayed a bunch of guys I was able to swap the orientation to suit the needs of the model. It was also around $3. I was able to pick up twice the amount of primer for less than the price of one can of GW spray primer.
