I am planning on selling a tau battleforce this saturday at the battle bunker. Plus a ethereal and a crisis suit. And i need help with pricing.
Oh yeah the one battle suit i started to paint. The other is not painted. The ethereal is painted. Most of the fire warriors are painted.
The stealth suits are painted. And the devil fish is painted. And two of the kroots are painted. I was thinking like $45 for it all. but i wanted your opinions
in fear of being ripped off. Thanks.

Just take in consideration , in USA many sellers offers
free shipping ontop of a 30% discount. ( brand new with all the bits )
Also without pictures we cant really put a pricing on the assembled / painted figure.
also consider:
if assembled , is it badly glued
if assembled are the current wargear option what the buyer wanted or do they have to chop it off
continuing from above, will they get the bits of what they needed
if painted and its plastic , it'll be troublesome for them to strip if they dont like the color scheme or the paint job.

What you get for it depends on the quality of the minis, as Luna said.
Basic sale math is that, for painted minis (assuming they're not horribly painted), you can expect to get 50% to 70% of retail for them.

If I'm buying used I don't pay more than 25-50% of retail. I only pay 50% of retail if they're like new or have very good paintjobs. Most of the time if I buy a lot at a time I end up getting everything for a lot less than 25% of retail.

I might start by asking for $50, then you have some wiggle room if someone wants to haggle

Normal retailers in the US are 20% off, not 30% as Luna said. That's in stores and online most of the time. eBay is the way to go if you're in the US. I just bought the entire latest Codex 40k collection for $38... That gives you an idea on what you can actually save...

Just have cash in hand at your FLGS when someone comes in and wants to sell their army. Either they just throw a ridiculously cheap price out to begin with or they start out at close to retail and then they realize that you're the only one interested and they end up selling for a fraction of that. When I used to hang around game stores a lot I'd get all kinds of stuff really cheap. Even now I only go once a week if that and at least once a month or so I still run into someone wanting to sell their army.
For example, I just picked up a vampire counts army yesterday. 2 new codexes, 40 ghouls, 25 skeles, 25 gg, 5 blood knights, 9 wraiths, a banshee, 4 vampires, a vhargulf and 1 zombie (yes 1 single zombie lol) cost me $150. Retail all of that would have cost around $450. They were all new models (except two of the vampires which were old Von Carsteins). Some of the stuff was badly painted. Some of the stuff was new and unpainted. Some of it was still new in box. I needed most of the stuff. What I don't need I'll just throw up on ebay. Later that day someone else showed up with a tyranid army that he was asking $150 for. I got the feeling that I could have haggled him down to about $50 or so if I wanted to but it was a 12 year old kid so I passed.

I beg to differ , check out the popular ebay seller with their online stores.
30% off , FREE SHIPPING within US.
There is like 3 of them around , i just dont bother keeping track of their names
since their offer only works in USA not Canada.
