after rereading my Imperial Armor 2 Book I noticed something. on page 201 there are options for taking the variant tanks in a inducted guard army.

I am fully aware of the downsides of taking said tanks in Combined force either composed of IG with allied Witch hunters or Witch hunter with allied IG. I am also aware of the downsides in taking said tanks mainly being that I will have to use the IA1 rules for said tanks which upon reading are still quite formidable on the table.

There are sufficient precedent for using the above listed variant tanks at your local store with said pointed out rules. As for tourneys, I don't play them. Letting your opponent know before hand that is just common courtesy. I feel that these books might point towards a simple response of complaint about which variant LR tank one may field with inducted guard.

Well if your gaming groups ok with Imperial Armour that's fine. My group don't like them since nearly none of them are very balanced. IA if fine for Apocalypse since every one knows what's coming and can tweak their list to deal with it
