there is a spell that opens up a pit in the ground (i cant remember its exact name) that (obviously) doesn't allow Armour saves. but, setra the imperishable has a set of magic armor that says you always get it, does he get it or not?

95% of teens would go into a panic attack if the jonas brothers were about to jump off the empire state building copy and paste this if you are the 5% who would pull up a lawn chair grab some popcorn and yell JUMP BITCHES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Setra gets at LEAST a 4+ armor save against all attacks, even those that ignore armor. The specific tends to override the general.

If you're talking about pit of shades then you don't get any saves...just dead....again!

Right, Pit of Shades doesn't do damage, it has no Strength value, it does no wounds. It simply forces a model to take an initiative test, fail it and the model is irrevocably removed. Armor or Ward saves don't apply.

The Empire has a magic item that makes a character pass all characteristic tests (barring ld), that's one of the few things that'd actually help versus the Pit.

so the pit of shades is cast on a unit and each model must pass an intiative test or die? that seems like it would be a bit of a broken spell, especially against soemthign with really low initiative like saurus. whats the catch?

If the spell requires initiative check or Death, than he dies.

It's not that broken thanks that spells are randomly chosen as well as hard to cast.

Wow, I didn't pick up on Pit of Shades.

Yeah, my statements only applies to attacks that have a strength value and do wounds. Settra's armor doesn't do jack against the Pit.

Plus Pit of Shades uses the small round template, so it doesn't always effect the whole unit.

there is a spell in the WoC nurgle lore. take a in test if you fail make a armor save. if you pass you are removed from game .

That 'pass the armour save and die' rule is also used in swimming rules for troops (for example in case of the General's Compendium ship rules). The heavier the armour, the more likely you are to go down.

the whole point of these initiative tests are to give the models in question a fighting chance.
Cloying Quagmire is a dumb spell though, Ive killed hydras at least twice with it. It affects the whole unit and is cast on a 9.

Please put this on your sig if you know someone, work for someone or are related to someone who suffers from stupidity. Stupidity is real and should be taken seriously. You could be sitting next to a sufferer right now. There is still no known cure for stupidity and sympathy does not help. But we can raise awareness.... 93% won't copy and paste this because they don't know how to copy and paste
