Hi all,

I was hoping I could get the 'special issue' items rule cleared up. It has been suggested to me on other threads that a tau army could take more than one special issue item.

The codex states: 'only one of each system may be taken per army'.

Until now I have been interpreting this rule as 'you can take one special issue item in your army'. Is this wrong? It seems open to interpretation as the word 'system' applies to only 2 categories (battlesuit weapon systems and battlesuit support systems).

To complicate matters further, I have seen points lists including bith Stim and Iridium armour. How can this be justified when they are in the same system category (battlesuit wargear)?

I'd like clarification on this from you knowledgable types. Can anyone help or provide a difinitive answer?

Thanks! TT

"only one of each system may be taken per army"

sounds pretty clear.
you are allowed 1 of each of those items in your army.

Each piece of wargear in this section has a limit of 0-1.

so you can take every one of them, but just not more than one of the same type.

Think of them like special characters.
Each is unique and can only be taken once per army, however, you may have more than 1.

Suffused with the dying memories of Sanguinus, the warriors of the Death Company seek only one thing: death in battle fighting against the enemies of the Emperor.

Ah, I see. It is pretty obvious now that you point it out!

Hmm this should make my commander a bit more survivable...
