I was just wondering, what happens if you give a Skink Chief riding a stegadon the Venom of The Firefly Frog and then lets him handle the Giant Bow (I hope you can do this, btw)? Will the Giant Bow get rerolls to hit since he actually "uses" the bow and it is a mundane weapon that was poisoned from the start or will it be considered part of another model (the stegadon) that uses the bow and just "borrows" his BS for the shot?

the whole chief firing the howdah weapons argument has been a pretty hot debate, I'm not sure a definitive answer has been reached yet. IMO the venom is pushing it

I agree with bat Manuel, the spear's the way to go.
2d6+1 S6 impacts, followed by 6 more S6 attacks. (3 from the steg, 3 from the lance wielding chief). Averaging 9 S6 hits will break almost anything, let's be honest. Add a slann w/ lore of shadows (unseen lurker) or beasts (wolf hunts) and life gets HILARIOUS. 12" march up a flank, then 12" charge into said flank, and start rolling up blocks of units. Kinda pricey at 380, but I think I'd rather have the spear chief than a 2nd engine of the gods...

nah, 2 engines and a BSB chief. The second burning alignment just kills units stone dead....

Apparently the rules department from games workshop has been responding to people that the skink chief can use one howdah weapon in place of the crew. I think it's a lot more interesting when you put him behind a giant blowpipe, personally... Either way I'd rather have a stegadon warspear. Doing a few extra wounds with a shooting weapon is cool and all but you're better off doing the extra wounds in combat and assuring that the unit you're attacking breaks after the first round.
