I do believe this should be in the discussion thread...not tactics.

However I like strangler fex cos it's cheap, got range and can deal with infantry and tanks at the same time.

Even if I never use a God Fex I still like it for it's name and capability.

Screamer-Killer. It's a classic; also the first Warhammer 40,000 model I ever bought back in the 2nd edition days.

Strangler fex. Like the way it looks and performs.

Reaso this is in tactics is because I originally intended the question to be "Which Carnifex species do you think is the best?", but decided that would be innacurate, so changed it, but didn't think to move the thread.

Well, personally, I prefer the dakkafex, they just so fun to use especially with spine banks. I do wierd things though, like running elite strangler fexes, heavy dakkafexes and one god fex always. I dont like gunfexes, looks kinda dumb and sorda anti fex philosphy in my opinion.

Armies I play:

-2500 pts
Mechanicus -1850 pts

Gunfexes can be replaced with other models for less points IMO.

I personally like the Stranglefex, because in a lot of games I've played, on turn 1, I will fire it and Instant Death an enemy character or immobilize an enemy tank. All these occurrences are statistically rare, but it becomes such a downer when your opponent suddenly loses his 200 point T4 character just because it doesn't have Eternal Warrior and he ruled a 1 to save.

@ Lukus

This should not be in the discussion thread, because the OP wants to know WHY people prefer certain species, meaning he wants to know the implied tactics involved!

I think my crazy uberfex is my favorite.
I admit it's basically too expensive to "get its points back" but I never really use it in a way that tries.

Most of the CC biomorphs and a BS for the walk across the table.

It makes an excellent escort for my Tyrant with guard, and takes an amazing amount of fire power to drop.
I actually give it regen, and have found that it helps more than I would have thought. It almost always makes it across the board, and pretty much annihilates anything it touches.

It is a fire magnet that can take the heat, and one of the best ones around other than a monolith.

"It is not the bullet with your name on it that should worry you, it's the one labeled "To whom it may concern. . ."

I myself am fond of the Strangler 'Fex. It destroys Nobs like nothing else, and can really turn the tide in CC. A good all-rounder, and a great detriment to people attacking your objective.

The Eye of Terror

The only time I ever tried to make a 'nid list I had a 'fex with all the upgrades that make it hard to kill.
I don't know what you call that, but it looked like it would be harder to take down than a monolith.
