Found here is an article on Guard in city fights. They've also included a slew of custom strategems for Guard only.

It's good to see them(the IG I mean) getting some after release exposure, and new strategems annd such on the web.I heard that they don't show up much in the WD as usally after a codex release the WD is filled with, either a campaign or some such thing dedicated to the army.

Aye, WD 354 only has six pages of 40k with two datasheets of Valkyries in Apoc, not a whole lot to write home about.

And now we can hope to have them compiled, like in Apocalypse...
But only the ones not printed in WD to protect sales of WD.

Wow, its conforting to know that the game designers still do not know how to construct an effective list.

Yeah, LOL. When I read through Cavatores list, I first kept wondering why the heck is he spamming Heavy Flamers on the infantry? They´re bloody 20 pst apiece, regular burnas kill normal PBIs just as dead and only cost 5 pst. Then I reached the end and saw the Manticore....and the Deathstrike ? He seriously intends to bring a tactical nuke to urban combat where the battle is fought at knife fighting range .

If it the fight goes downhill you have to nuke the place.

Scorched earth is a time honored strategy so nothing wrong with that. Just think carefully how you will phrase the order to include the Deathstrike to your battle plan. The resident Comissar might get the wrong idea and perform summary execution for "defeatism" .

The principle behind this army list is very simple: in games of Cities of Death, almost everybody gets a cover save. So I mostly picked weapons that deny cover saves."
Because apparently they don't get them in 5e? Has this guy just been absent since the game release?

Did anyone tell them that they crapped out Cities of Death and then forgot about it like evry other book that comes from GW?
A whole whopping three or four months and then they dropped it like a hot potato.
Still waiting on the rest of the scenery releases that they were cranking out. the stackable lego like cities of death teraign bag, the strategems, the resin pieces.
Someone had better let them know that this game went Elvis as soon as it came out. Pfft. It happens with no support, you know.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money. |

This is just speculation, but maybe cities of death is doing real good in england. And would love to see that army and my FLG, I haven't had a dominating win in a while.

There's some nice dinky little touches to those strategems. I love the idea of the forward observers.
Would they actually be useful, though?

"And what is wrong with their life? What on earth is less reprehensible than the life of the Levovs?"
- American Pastoral, Philip Roth
Oh, Death was never enemy of ours!
We laughed at him, we leagued with him, old chum.
No soldier's paid to kick against His powers.
We laughed - knowing that better men would come,
And greater wars: when each proud fighter brags
He wars on Death, for lives; not men, for flags. |
