So I'm trying to figure out a way to take this:

and make the cannon a Shokk Attack gun. I don't really want to take away from what I've done to the original so I'm thinking of making a slide-on barrel to make it more "shokky". I have plasticard tubes of course, but what would give it a better feel?

This way I can use this model as Warboss or Mek.

Umm, the SAG launches grots through the warp and they re-emerge on the other end. You would have to start by finding some grots to model on it. Actually, a kinda cool idea you could use the old squiggs, the ones which look like cannon balls. Use thm and then tech up the cannon. As it is the model would be better used as... umm.. well hell, I really don't know what... Maybe your opponent will allow it as a Kannon?

Maybe find something to add on beneath it for sucking up said grots.. Can't think of anything other than just custom building that from green stuff or something, but I'm kind of new to this.

An idea to give it more of the shokk-attack look might be to build up some sort of spinning gubbins to put on the end of the barrel. Use various sizes of solid/hollow plasticard tubing to build up the rails out from the end, get some ball bearings or something similar to build up the rotating orb bits.

Oor.. carve some pieces out of some flat thick plasticard, build it up with some wire or strands of green stuff to act as like wiring around said pieces. Add on the round bits on the end, maybe some more between each part for stability.

Something like this? (Woot for crappy illustrator grots!)

You could just order the shokk attack gun spinning thing off of Bitzbox.

Personally I dont think you HAVE to make it suck up snotlings. Infact its an Ork weapon for god sake.... it can shoot pretty much whatever you want it to. I do like the drawing above, that would be neat

yeah, the 'sucking up snotlings' concept is very nice but not the only way to supply ammo to a SAG. E.g. there could ba a large funnel at the top, full of snottlings being prodded down by a grot assistant, or perhaps the snotlings are kept in little cages ready to be loaded. Or muzzle loaded into the front? Or not show them at all, they're only ammo.

As the SAG isn't literally a cannon, the main thing is to add some sort of warpy tech mad scientist machine bits to the front of the gun barrel, and some power cables etc to the back. I agree the ork's pose is fine.

I like the top loader idea. Make it look like a giant paintball gun with grots in the hopper

I'll look around and see what bits I have to make it up

Was just about to suggest a snotling hopper til I saw clangs post. Is a good idea and I think you cant really have a SAG without a snotling somewhere on it

As for the spinny bit maybe you dont need that...maybe if you got say a pincer ish thing and had those on the end of it....think this but 4 pincers . . .

off-topic anybody know where that guns from?

on-topic....keep it up and make it orky as you can, anything works with orks

The gun I used is from the Ogre Kingdoms lead-belcher sprue. I had to shave the shoulder, but the Ogre's arm's fit very nicely against the Warboss frame.

I rolled the wire around. I can use the tine as a placement for my hopper, and the claw/Zapp gun ending I can add to a piece of plasti-tube.

I typically use this HQ as a Warboss with Combi-Rokkit - but I'm trying to maximize my models and was trying to make an easy conversion to use him as a Mek w/SAG too.

I think it'd be awesome if you managed to make "hamster tubes" to get the snotlings in there.

OOoooOOOo I like Stubbs idea on the hamster wheel. Thats funny on so many levels. AND you could use that for many things... a grot powered looted wagon or battle wagon lol pure win

Your cannon barrel appears to be hollow. Fashion a spinny bit that slides into the barrel and you're good to go. Tubes, cabling, and other clever gubbins wouldn't hurt, but I think the shooty bit of the gun is the most important for getting the point across.

ummmm not really on topic but the claw thing is from
a video game i used to play "Ratchet and Clank"
when the claws touch it shoots lighning

o and i think it should be a tread mill with like 4 grots and a lil funnel at the back of the treadmill for when
they get tired (the funnel connects to the cannon)
