Hi everyone,

I've been lurking here for the past few days, most of it spent being wowed by some of the amazing work in the Painting and Modeling Blogs forum. After some thought, I figured it might be easier to simply sign up, in case I ever wanted to add some insight to a discussion.

A bit of history:

I've been playing Warhammer 40,000 since sophomore year of high school, which would be around '97 or so. A friend got me into it; he'd ordered the box set at the FLGS; space marines and orks, if I remember correctly. The little orks, and the dozens of gretchin all holding their autoguns in the same direction. All it took to get me interested was the Chaos Codex - the big one, back when we still got proper army books! I managed to amass a decent sized Alpha Legion army(mostly consisting of the metal chaos space marines), and a small force of regular space marines before my usual opponent moved away and I gave up the game. In the meantime, I started playing Warmachine, and it's only recently that the new Imperial Guard plastics have peaked my interest.. I'm not sure I'll play again, but something about collecting an infantry army with tanks appeals to me, and there are dark whispers in my brain that tell me a Guard army with the Imperial eagles filed off might work perfectly well for both sides...

I'm down in Corpus Christi, and will be back in Amarillo/Canyon later this year for more school(only two more years, thank god).

One thing that I both love and hate about Texas is that it's such a friggin' huge state... takes forever to drive anywhere, by the scenery's beautiful the whole way going.
