Hello all. Relatively new wargamer here. My chosen crack is 40k, specifically of the Tyranid kind.

I ended up getting into 40k because I enjoyed painting figurines, and purchased a copy of How to Paint Citadel Miniatures. Ended up getting a few tyranid gaunts to paint because they looked like fun to paint and I really liked the look and feel of them. I was kind of iffy on starting the hobby because I wasn't sure so my gaming buddies gave me a good swift kick into the hobby by getting me the Tyranid Codex and 40k rulebook for Christmas. It was love at first roll. (Though my boyfriend was annoyed with my purchasing of mass numbers of figs. Yes, I am a female wargamer)

As I said I am still relatively new and still learning, but love the game. So hello to all on dakka.

I thinks it fine if ur a female wargamer. If you wanna play the game, then play the game. If you want to paint the figurines, then paint the figurines. Thats why we have a democracy, in my opinion. Anyhow, I wish you a warm welcome to Dakka Dakka!

Gee, a 'Nid playa! Fist time I played against them was with guard, let me just say NOM! NOM! NOM! (THey won bigtime)
Last time though It was a draw (close) so either I'm getting better or they're getting worse!
