So with the long overdue Empire second wave this month will anyone be starting the army?

I have a heap of models (150 or so) but all unassembled in my Empire Bitz box but have my O&G and HEs to work on first.

Nope, i think ill be starting a goblin army
why? its light on my pocket thanks to skull pass.
and i also get to paint up loads of squigs.

New empire stuff seems to really get hammered with prices.

Suffused with the dying memories of Sanguinus, the warriors of the Death Company seek only one thing: death in battle fighting against the enemies of the Emperor.

Hell no, I've got a bunch of Grimgor's 'Ard Boyz to assemble and paint. Thank you, feebay.

Nope,I have never liked the empire fluff wise and I don't like the mini's either really. But I am thinking of either a goblin or VC army.

I'm considering starting up Empire, incidentally. Seems like a daft idea on my part, though. I just like the over-all aesthetics of the army.

To be honest, the idea of an army of germans in poofy pants with fugly faces and piss-poor armour never appealed to me for some reason. I like my armies to be heavy-looking. Lots of good saves is my cup of tea.

Coming from High Elves, Empire has GREAT saves! (not as good as, say, WoC, though)

It's amazing how many saves that Swordsmen can make in hth. I've always liked the Empire, but when I have the choice between playing my HE and playing Empire I usually pick HE.

Cannons and helblaster are a lot of fun as well.

I've been dabbling a little, and will eventually have an Empire army running.

I'm one of those types with no attention span, and who grabs every army book in WHFB. Thus whichever book I read last gets me fired up and I start buying some models. Of course, It's hard for me to ever get an army up to strength.

Plastic Greatswords will be nice. I've got the metal CG for them, so that's an extra three.

Not one to use Armagedon Steel Legion then?

I will be continuing collecting my Empire, but I refuse to buy 10 great swords for £25!!!

Ironically I am building an Empire army right now, though you won't see any of these new-fangled plastic greatswords (or is it gold swords?). Built it around the previous battalion, the reinforcement battalion, and state troops, with a second helblaster and cannon thrown in. As much as I like some of the background of the Empire, I can't justify spending $25 on a book full of illustrations (I could fork over $9 for White Dwarf and feel like I got the same deal).

Nope. I like their fluff and stuff, but the new plastic kits have killed my Empire Army.

Greatswords and Battalion are awful.

Some people play to win, some people play for fun. Me? I play to kill toy soldiers.

I won't be starting them as my painting pace is, to put it bluntly, glacial at best. I'd love to have an army full of state troops though. I'm kind of turned off by the glitzier, steam tank, war altar business. I wonder if the arch-lectors bring that thing back to the imperial garage and try to run it in reverse to pull what must be millions and millions of miles off the odometer.

I'm considering re-starting my Empire army. I mainly play Vampire Counts but have fledgling Wood Elf and Empire armies. I may have to bust out the yellow paint and start up an Empire force.

I've read the book and decided in no way was it worth anything like the price they are asking for.

The book or the Greatswords? I suppose either works.

I've quit buying empire models because they aren't all painted and I have about 4000 points. About all I have to paint are knights. I'm not very interested in the 2nd wave.

Not buying anything new. My forever-WIP Empire army is actually almost finished, needing only ~10 or so DoW Pikemen painted.

I'm not looking forward to using it, because it is a gunline army (~30 handgunners, 2 mortars, 1 great cannon and two big infantry blocks in 1500pts.), and my IG gunline army in 40k3/40k4 bored me.

Oh yes, got some archers on the go as I type. Love this boxed set, it's a pity archers aren't more useful.

Archers are extremely useful for a multitude of reasons, least of which being their actual shooting. I use detachments of archers to screen my troops from incoming fire, and judiciously abuse the rules for charging skirmishers to set up favorable assaults for the infantry blocks behind.

Love the new models for them, but it saddens me to say that it takes nearly twice as long for me to assemble a box, just because there's actually choices to make this time!

Agreed, it's taking me forever too. Have pulled arms off a multitude of times to try something different. Got seven I'm happy with, just three to go.
