I just started up with 40k. A friend used to play and was telling me about 40k and i was quite interested, so I did a bunch of reading and internet browsing and decided it would be a lot of fun.

I'm starting out as Space Marines, though I'm still trying to decide between Ultramarines or Black Templar, very tough choice for me. I like both Chapters' background, i just cant decide what color, blue or black, haha. >.< The B.T. seem to be more badass and i like the whole 'crusade' aspect of it. As well as it seems black is much easier to not screw up painting with my first models.

I don't really know what play style I'm looking for seeing how I've never played a wargame like this before, though my usually opponents will be Blood Angels, Sisters of Battle, and possibly Tau (if i can get my brother on board)

Hi, welcome to dakka and im having the same problem! Cant decide whether to go Ultramarines or Black Templar! But somebody actually told me that you can create your own paint scheme and take whichever chapter rules you like best and pretty much make your own private chapter.
