In ruins gives 4+ cover save, camo cloaks give +1 to cover save, command order 'incoming' gives + 2 to cover save, netting you a 1+ cover save.
Is this right?

Actually it's not because a one is always a failure (it's not) but because the rules say that a save may never be better than a 2+.

It would be cool though.

A similar effect could be achieved in 4+ cover, with Eldar pathfinders going to ground.

...and then immediately after that say that a 1 is always a failure...

Not in every situation. But what Red_Lives said was correct in this particular situation.

And why is that one always a failure? Because no save can be better than a 2+. You're trying to make the result the cause.

Isn't the 1 always failing referring to Skill checks, not Saves? I'm not implying that a 1+ save is possible, don't worry. I know that 2+ is the best you can get.

Actually, its a roll of 6 that is always a failure for a Characteristic test, while a 1 is always a success

No, I'm just pointing out that the rule does actually state that a 1 is always a failure. Nothing more.

No, it's simply stating the results of the rule immediately before it or are you saying that GW thinks so little of it's players that they have to have two rules saying the exact same thing in the very same paragraph?

It takes two to have an argument.

you see? If you put 2 wargamers in the same thread to answer a question, You'll end up with 1 answer and 22 different arguments to how you got to the answer and why it happens. It's very rare to get 2 answers and when you do, the arguments are out of the chart

What can get camo cloaks for IG? Is it something you can take with troops?

Oddly enough, this is answered in your IG codex, I heartily suggest you take a quick flip though it to find which units have them and which do not.

I don't have an IG codex... or at least not the new one...

EDIT: Thumbing through the previous codex I see something mentioned in the doctrines section... and it looks like Gaunt has a camo cloak...

Looks like we solved the problem then. Get a codex and read it Asking for rules is a big No-No.

Technically you can answer this question without using rules..... all you have to do is supply the name of the units. He's not asking HOW the units get the cloaks, just which ones have access.

To answer the question, Veteran Squads have an option allowing them access to camocloaks. To find out how, pick up a dex and read up.

As long as we are discussing rules here in the forum for....discussing rules, a quote of a given rule or a reference to the (specific) location of a given rule, should be OK.

Wording is important, as proven by the 8+ "my penis is bigger than yours"-posts in this very thread, so a quote of any relevant rules seems allowed.

Company Command Squads, Ratlings and Veterans come with/have access to camo cloaks. Marbo cheats, since he has Stealth without needing a cloak.
