my friend killed my valk with melta bombs. is it kosher to assault 4 inches but still be able to assault a vehicle that is 4 or 5 inches above the table? my bull shittt alarm was going off. your thoughts.....

Read the rules on Assaulting Skimmers.

In Short, yes it is "Kosher" (as much as a UK made Plastic Model can follow the Rules for Jewish produce I suppose).

Its a common misconception, tis a skimmer not a flyer, therefore it dont matter how high you base that guy. As Gwar said, read the skimmer rules...

And FYI, I am Jewish, I know what the Kosher Laws are, so don't try and preach to me. Kosher laws are NOT just for food, but for pretty much anything you can think of. Kosher in itself is a Mistranslation, the correct term is Kashrut, But now we're just getting off topic.

If i understand the question correctly, you may not assault a valkyrie unless you get into b2b with its base. You cant assault the point below the skimmer if your not touching it.

However i dont think that this was intended, as this means that the Valkyrie cant disembark/embark troops normally and cant contest objectives.

The "assaulting skimmers-part" is very clear. Either get in btb contact with the skimmer itself (impossible) OR get in btb contact with the base. This is easy.

The disembarking/contesting part is for another discussion. Actually just go read the other threads on that issue and not muddy up these otherwise clear waters.

No, nothing in the rules say you can't move in the space under a model, only that you cannot move into the space actually occupied by a model. Because the Valk is so high up, most models can move freely under it, though they still may not move through its base, nor may another valk move "through" another.

As such, you are more than able to assault a Valks base

Maybe it did and the designers just didn't bother to adress it. Which is even scarier.

We have heard stories about playtesters bringing up issues/broken comboes well in advance.....and the games designers doing nothing about it.

sorry about swearing guys. i was still very angry from that game. loosing 3 leman russ and 2 infantry squads in 1 turn does that to me.
