Hi, I have been builiding a Biel-Tan army for some time now. After my last game i notice 2 things missing in my army. Anti-tank guns and transports.

I have decided to get a transport first. My Wave Serpent is on the way, but I am not sure how to arm it.

My regular opponents play SM and Orks.

So any advice for arming the Wave Serpent will be welcome.

Would help to know what your transporting. Any way basic options available are

Cheap TL-Shuriken Cannon and Spirit Stone 110pts
Fast TL-Shuriken Cannon, Spirit Stone, Star Engines and optionally vector engines 125/145pts
All rounder - TL-EML, Shuriken Cannon and Spirt Stone 140pts
Anti-Tank TL-Bright lance and Spirit Stone 145pts

I am planing to transport Banshee's, since the SM player sees them as the biggest threat.

My collection at the moment is:

Seer council: Farseer, 3 x warlocks

8 x Banshee's with exarch
7 x Scorpions with exarch

2 x 10 x Avengers with exarch
6 x Rangers

5 x Spiders with exarch
3 x Spears with exarch
6 x Hawks with exarch

2 x Vibro cannons

2 boxes of Harlequins + shadow seer

I like EMLs on Serpents because it allows you do whatever you need and you can move/shoot 'pinning plasma pie'. EMLs/Spirit Stones and the banshees is one of my planned groups.

If you're going to get transports you may as well get three (funds allowing). One for the Banshees and two for both of the DA squads. Scorpions can outflank so they 'probably' won't need one. Your FA slots could probably stay as is, though with that list I would be concerned with AV12-14.

A TW BL Serpent may be exactly what you need?

I must confess, the EML sounds very tempting. But as you said, i will struggle with AW 12-14.

You've got swooping hawks so you've anti tank (AV 12+) so i think you'll be best with ether a shooty tank (TL-EML, Shuriken Cannon) which will soften up a target unit or Fast tank (TL-Shuriken Cannon, Spirit Stone, Star Engines) which get you there for a second turn attack.

edit and if you want anti AV14 unit then you want 5 Fire dragons with an Exarch and tank hunter (107pts) mounted in a falcon (more anti tank)
