The bit stuck on the side of England. Wales isn't it.

I'm about to embark on putting together a psyker battle squad. And I was torn as to what they should look like . I've ordered up the flaggelants box as a base. The codex and previous 40k models seem to go for a bald ,( with glowing eyes ), dude dressed in a long coat and a worried expression. A few around here have gone for the flaggelants box , to make a kind of demon hunter, zealot look. As a fan of the Gaunts Ghosts series , Mr Abnett has had pskers a few times in his books , and the only one I can remember , from "Only in Death" , was where the psykers were like caged animals that had been tortured , eyes sewn up , and that kind of thing. The other reference I can't remember , might have been in " Armour of Contempt". So which type of psyker would you go for?

I have always liked them more as crazed mad men, with torn rags hanging off them while they stumble about whisper to themeselves,"it's the monkey that did this to me."

It really depends on what type of army you have.
In some novels psykers are depicted as almost feral types, in others they are they are uniformed and tolerated (somewhat).

I'd prefer uniformed ones for loyalist armies, maybe a bit more shabby looking and a bit unhealthy in colour

Gathering the Informations.

If I remember right, the uniformed ones we've heard about have been Navigators or Astropaths, not the battle psykers we see on the ground.

Although, personally, I'd set them up in standard, ratty fatigues with blinders and stormcoats.

I think I'm going to use the flaggelant bodies, with cadian sergeant arms , so it fits the bill of cc weapon and laspistol ,( with some converted to carry staffs with the eye/eagle emblem). Cadian sergeant/space marine sergeant/catachan heads , converted to be bald. I have a mostly cadian army , with steel legion as addons to bring the points up to Apoc level. So nothing too crazy that might stand out and draw too much fire. Although having said that I was thinking of putting them in a black chimera with the eye emblem on it.

Generally my psykers are battle hardened veterns in power armour, and on occasion terminator armour, weilding great and powerful force weapons. But then again you can't really make a battle squad out of those ones. Unless of course you are going to be playing apoc.
