Last Saturday (5/30), I picked up a Soul Grinder for my son (reward for earning his orange belt) with the goal of finishing it within the week so that I could bring it down to my LGS the following Saturday. As of Friday morning, it's pretty much done with the exception of some additional washing around the pistons and highlighting of hoses.

Overall, it's a pretty interesting piece to paint, with mix of organic and metal. I wasn't too terribly impressed by how the model assembled, particularly the legs. The two halves of every leg just seemed to match up very poorly and required a lof of filing and filling.

well it IS based on a defiler model, so the horror of assembly isn't that shocking.

Very good paint job. That model always looks badass, and fun to paint since you have an awesome melding of demon and machine, and a very good organic to metal ratio.

I will probably just buy 1 or 2 of these and use them as defilers in normal games and as soul grinder demon allies for apoc games. I can only hope to paint as well as you do on them. Maybe I'll just make my more skilled GF do them

Nice work. I am building a scratch-built demon and I plan to use some of the concepts of the Soulgrinder. I like what you have done with the metal.
