Okay, so Typhon, Molick, Mulg, and the new Shadowhorn are all out now. I'm still waiting for Megalith. I wanted to see if anyone has play-tested the new brutes and what they thought of them.

I picked up the Shadowhorn last night and went to town with it. I used him with Kaya and loved his synergy with her. Bounding Leap gives you alot of different tactics, and his chain-attack Pitch can knock-down 2 targets without a scatter roll.. Over-all I was very happy with him. I do wish they would have made him DEF13 though.

Anyone else had any fun?

Typhon kinda pissed me off because he made it so easy to win it's boring. They ruled that his 'fling' requires no strength check so he can walk up and throw 3 heavies with no problems....and they don't deviate

Molik's cool as he's really fast and hits like a ton of bricks. I haven't played any of the others.

Try him with Rhyas... That wins by turn 2. 3 if you want to drag the game out...

i like the look of the Shadowhorn's rules but the model sucks so I won't be buying one. I'll be picking up Megalith when he's released.

I actually like the Shadowhorn model more than I thought I would. Haven't gotten it yet, though.

Saw a Circle player field the Shadowhorn over the weekend. They are quite imposing on the tabletop. PP's picture angle does not do the model justice... It looks good...

Molik Karn is brutal. I've yet to see anything survive a charge by Molik backed up by Xerxis' feat and Merciless Assault.

I find that the more I look at my Shadowhorn, the more and more I love him. And yes he is huge. Very slender, but looks over all the other models for Hordes.

Anyone try Mulg yet?

I got to play against him. He's another Mauler, only with reach and Critical Slam like an Impaler. SPD4 is really slow, so you dont have to worry about him early part of the game, but his animus and Rune Breaker Scars really put a damper in my gaming because of how much I use animi with my Circle.

Eh, I play Khador so SPD4 is no biggie to me so long as he hits hard when he gets there.

I agree on the Shadowhorn model. The studio photo makes him look like crap, but once you have him in hand he's not so bad.

If you angle his fists so that he's not the spitting image of Cornholio it does wonders for his look.

And the dude is hella tall. I reposed one of my Woldwardens with one foot on a large boulder so that he is standing almost perfectly erect and the Shadowhorn still easily beats him in the height department.

I am a sucker for the Satyrs and I have heard that he is great offensively played which is what I like, so I think I am going to pick him up.
I havn't seen all of its abilities, but I have read up on him and he sounds like a defensive assassin lol.

Molik Karn hits like a truck, and is extremely difficult to damage thereafter. He's my pick of the litter. Each and every thing about him is great, add them together and its dynamite.

All in all, fact is that Warhammer 40K has never been as balanced as it is now, and codex releases have never been as interesting as they are now (new units and vehicles and tons of new special rules/strategies each release -- not just the same old crap with a few changes in statlines and points costs).
