After searching the forums I found one thread that was closely related, but did not answer the question.
I played an apoc game today with my Orks and my new Big Mek Stompa. Naturally I put my big mek inside for the 4+ save and the repair options.
While my enemy was shooting, a question came up. None of us at the FLGC disagreed with the KFF giving the Mek a 4+ save, but what about the force field the stompa comes with? The rules states that any shooting attacks that are 12" away hit the field, which is considered to have 12 armor. Does that field get a save as well, considering its given a armor value you would think it would, as well as it being a part of the stompa. But then there is the fact that its a force field, being protected by another force field.
The stompa performed great despite me just saying it doesn't for the sake of time, but its something thats bound to come up again. What is Dakkas thoughts?

The forcefield works out at 12", outside of the 6" bubble generated by the KFF. So no, it doesnt work.
Nice try though

The whole "Mek+Stompa" abuse is not a very good use of Apoc time IMO, but to answer the question, not it wont work.

3 ork players in my group all agreed that KFF's aren't going to work on superheavies and that normal repairs (meks, enginseers etc) can't repair superheavies from within them. Just too much abuse, and we all like apoc and want to keep playing.
Trying to give a force field a save from another forcefield takes it to a new level.
Apoc is an open system that is easily abused. If you're easter egg hunting for ways to abuse your opponents, you're missing the point.

....and lo!.....The Age of Sigmar came to an end when Saint Veetock and his hamster legions smote the false Sigmar and destroyed the bubbleverse and lead the true believers back to the Old World.

To be honest I found the whole thing to be absurd. But with 2 other Ork players with stompas (one being TFG), I was sure the question was to come up, the 6" KFF not reaching the 12" force field is exactly the ammo I need to derail them.

On a related note, would a Super-heavy with a shield get a cover save against losing a shield from terrain? Would that terrain have to be outside the 12" field? Because if not, I would say that a KFF would give a cover save by RAW, although I personally think it shouldn't. Apocalypse is meant to be fun though, so anybody who is power gaming in apocalypse should be avoided and scorned (meanwhile thoughts go through head about how putting Mad Dok Grotsnik in an 'Uge Mob giving them Feel No Pain would be so amazingly hard... ).
