Deadly Dire Avenger

My friend plays a strictly Khorne / Tzeentch army.

Consists of mostly Pinks, Blood thirsters, with flamers and a squad of crushers as well (which he sometimes leads with a herald on a Juggernaut)

My main concern is he fields a Lord of Change and many times a Daemon Prince w/ wings. Any suggestions of how to take out the lord of change? the +3 invulnerable is a killer.

Also, any specific tips in general, with the entire army deep striking its hard for me to set up good lines of defense.

i'd say three squads of three War Walkers, all of them kitted out with two scatter lasers

As a daemon player, my advice would be to target carefully.

If he's got one icon, aim for that first. He'll then be scattering after that therefore has to be more cautious.

KIll flamers next, they'll destroy so many many units.

As for Big stuff, choose one and fire everything at it, it'll be tough to take down, but if you fire on both, they'll probably both survive and then you're dead.

I don't think we have anything that negates inv., which is a shame for an arcane army.

My Chaos opponent plays a very Khorne-heavy army, DP running with 20 bezerkers. I can outmanouvre him all over town though. Plenty of sustained fire, JSJ and play the waiting game.

I only close for combat when I'm ready, then I hit him with 10 Banshees. The dice say thats 10 PW wounds.
A beefed-up jetseer council also makes him poo his little red pants.

Pathfinders are a laugh, with the rending / AP1 gig they have going on.

I use WW with EMLs, personally. Give him the Krak missiles all over. He's not going to roll 3+ every time.

Fighting Chaos for me really just comes down to pounding the enemy with as many high power weapons as I can. Doom and Fortune are key here. Good luck!

Yeah I hear ya, but the problem is he backs his 10 bloodletters and crushers w/ 1 or 2 squads of pink horrors, the 18" assault 3 shot they have is brutal with the AP 4.

He also deep strikes in flamers that if he gets them where they want can wipe out whole squads with their bs breath. 4+ wound no save flamers are ruthless.

Shoot everything down. He will have to be very close to you and can't assault the turn he enters play. Can anybody say Bladestorm? I don't know why it would be that difficult unless you just didn't have that many models on the field.

Step one: Go mech
Step two: Fly around and focus fire
Step three: Laugh
Step four: Rinse and repeat

This method of playing Eldar absolutely destroys Demons.

Anything with a lot of shots is the trick against deamons.
Also, witchblades inflict wounds galore (doesn't matter that they are not power weaopns as deamons have invos)

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Forget banshees (waste of power weapons) get striking scorpions instead.

Put everything in reserve, l;et him come down then react to him. Kill the fast stuff first, then focus on everything else. The crushers and letters are slow, while you are fast.

Dance away and shoot, play for objectives, you should be able to win consistently.

I disagree completely with reserves against Daemons. Put it all on the table, weather his 5 Bolt of Changes, and simply blow things apart while dancing in and out of transports.

3x Warwalkers is the best choice against a Daemons army in my opinion. Relatively cheap, and unparalleled S6 firepower.

I am used to playing against he masque/flamer combo which means if you start on board you instantly lose 3+ squads of infantry.

I suppose with non shooting Daemons, it would be better to start on board as it gives you full firepower against what shows up.

Somewhere in the unknown universe.

You have to be faster than he is. You have to be able to move away from the deep-striking khorne daemons and shoot the bejeezus out of them before they can charge you. For this, I would recommend bladestorming DAs in wave serpents.

Congratulations, your dismissive and conclusory commentary has provided nothing to this discussion or the wider community on whose behalf you arrogantly presume to speak nor does it engage in any meaningful way the remark it lamely targets. But you did manage to gain experience points toward your next level of internet tough guy.
