Does anyone know who the Primarch of the Grey Knights is?
I cannot find an answer anywhere.

I don't believe they have a Primarch, I believe the canon states that they are rumored to have been created sometime towards the end of the Great Crusade by the Emperor.

Belongs in the fluff forum.
Grey Knights don't have a Primarch. They were founded by the surviving members of the Traitor Legions who didn't turn to Chaos in the first place. Nathaniel Garro of the Death Guard was the first Grand Master, IIRC. The other prominent founders were a Luna Wolf and a World Eater, I think.
Their geneseed would therefore be a cocktail of Mortarion's, Horus', and Angron's.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made. |

I thought Garro died at Istavaan III? or w/e its called? Anyway, yeah they don't have a Primarch they are Second Founding and are an Order Militant of the Inquisition. They also don't follow the Codex from Gulliman (sp) because they actually keep 3,000 active Grey Knights and instead of having a Chapter Master have a council of Elite. So they were probably founded by the Inquisition or what Cheese Elemental said (maybe even the emperor like the Adeptus Custodes were) I'll research it real quick... "are rumoured to have the most pure of all gene-stock. " http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Grey_Knights "Just before the Second Founding, the Imperium was still reeling in shock from the recent galactic civil war, and very vulnerable. The Emperor ordered the creation of a 'secret chapter' of the Adeptus Astartes: chapter six-hundred-and-sixty-six. The gene-seed for this chapter is strongly suspected to have been taken from the Emperor directly. After their creation, the chapter was assigned to the Ordo Malleus as their Chamber Militant. The name of this chapter has become legend, and is feared throughout the galaxy by those it opposes, and is whispered in reverence by all those it protects: the Grey Knights." "The hierarchy of the Grey Knights is drastically different from Codex-adherent Chapters. A council of the Chapter's Grand Masters fulfill the role of Chapter Master"

Garro was the one who went back aboard the Eisenstein (sp?).
Also, I thought when initiating new recruits they had to be psychicly active.?.? I think I have that right...at work so I can't check the spelling to the 'dex right now.

I thought Garro, Amandera Kendel, the loyal Death Guard etc became the founders of the new INQUISITION after the events of Flight of the Eisenstein, not the Grey Knights.
The Grey Knights were created later on, using gene-seed from the Emperor (rather than from a primarch). Also, a grey knight has to have psychic ability - Garro et al have nothing like this...

I agree. Garro etc seem to be the founding members of the Inquisition.......

Grey Knights do not have a Primarch. They were created AFTER The Heresy through Unknown Means.

That is only a rumour. The truth is no-one really knows where it came from bar the Grey Knights themselves and perhaps one of the High Lords.
I would like to think it is a refined Space Wolf Geneseed, as Space Wolves are pretty much immune to the effects of Chaos anyway

Narp, it was the Custodes who used the Emprah's geneseed. And since Grey Knights are a branch of the Inquisition, they certainly could have been founded by the survivors of the Eisenstein.

Custodes are as related to Adeptus Astrates as a Kitten is related to an African Killer Bee. (i.e. not at all).
They may both be "Human" but Custodes are of a much better construction and vastly superior to Space Marines in every way. They are just much MUCH harder to make, hence why there never were that many in the first place, and why they are now all confined to Terra to defend the Golden Throne.
