When I heard that this was another sandbox game I assumed that I would be playing a dry punch, punch punch game with no combo's and a poor storyline. (I'm a very negative person.) But it surprised me. It boasts many different powers that can be used in many different situations. Most notable is a lighting storm that can be controlled by six axis. The good/evil move tier sets along with an altered storyline make the game have amazing re-play value. And most of all the storyline is quite amazing! Next to fallout 3 this was the best title I picked up this year. For those fortunate enough to own a ps3 I highly recommend buying it.

This isn't really a review.
it's a summation.

How were the controls overall?
Was the story deep? What made it amazing?

Was it mostly "woo lightnins!" or were there actual reasons other than blowin' stuff up?

Not necessarily, you can't really compare the two without reason.

InFamous has a complicated but interestingly delivered story, modest game play, worthwhile but eventually repetitive combat with few enemies, some interesting boss fights and - I dislike to admit - better graphics than Prototype.

Prototype has a simpler and more 'intriguing' storyline but nothing especially moving, the parkour kicks butt and it's one of the first games to introduce such an interesting movement style, the combat is so OTT and epic with such a variety of powers that you won't grow bored quickly, numerous enemy types and a lovely evolving city that changes over the course of the game.

Prototype suffers from a lack of interesting missions but makes up for it with it's expanded sand-box gameplay. ( I require more game play for a complete report)

Infamous was an interesting game, but the moral choice system was too simple.

Games never get the moral system right, inFamous just has it as an incentive to replay the game for those other powers.

Luna, you don't have to jump to defence of everybody around here.

It simply is not a review, but rather a personal opinion of someone who enjoys a good game and tries to show others that.

The reason why morality systems don't work in games is because in real life the benefits you get from being 'good' are often fairly intangible.

You don't get a bus pass of +1 for paying your fare, but you do get a working public transport system.

Games usually aim to provide a much more immediate and obvious reward.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

I actually picked this up the other day with an almost-expired Best Buy giftcard, while waiting for them to restock Prototype(So sue me. Impulse buys, gasp!).

I have to say, it is actually pretty fun.
It takes a bit to get off its feet, and the story is...well, so far as of Day 17, it's pretty involving.

Plus, the ability to "surf" along powerlines and train rails, while tossing electrical grenades at people?
Epic.

I'll post a more comprehensive review, with spoiler text and everything!...when I finish.

Some of the choices WERE real choices... like the one involving your girlfriend. Overall, however, I have to agree that morality systems in games need to get away from the polar choice system, with one being baby eating and the other getting nailed to a cross for other people's sins. There needs to be the "meh" option, or the "I'm too damn lazy to care about your needs, whiny 'tard" option, or the "helpful but annoyingly preachy, triggering a harsh beating" option... you know, like in real life.

As a rule of thumb, the designers do not hide "easter eggs" in the rules. If clever reading is required to unlock some sort of hidden option, then it is most likely the result of wishful thinking.

But there's no sense crying over every mistake;
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.
