Am I the only one experiencing problems with jumping to last unread post?
Although a given thread shows up as having unread posts, pressing the "Last unread" button brings me to the start of the thread ie. page 1.
Has there been some changes to the structure of the site in the last 24 hours?
I use Firefox BTW.

I think I have found the problem (and it might be at my end).
The server seems to have forgotten the individual posts I have looked at before yesterday noon (my local time). Any post I look at since then, registers as "read" now, so the problem will go away shortly.
Thank you for your attention, Legoburner.

Hrm, I don't know if this is related or not, but I noticed it over the last couple of days.
I typically use tabbed browsing (Chrome, if thisis relevant). I'll pull up the Recent Threads page, and run through it opening tabs for everything that looks interesting, using skip to first unread when i've seen a thready before.
Then I close the tabs, leaving the recent thread page open as it was. If I click the 'go to first unread' link a second time, it then goes to the beginning of the thread, rather than the end of the thread, as would be expected.
Now, if I'd refreshed the Recent Threads page, there wouldn't be a skip to first unread anymore, as I'd be caught up. So this is related to clicking on an old link.
It's probably not worth looking into, I just noted it and thought I'd pass it on.

I have the same problem with my netbook. I use Firefox, which is usually quite reliable, and I'm not constantly wiping my internet history or anything like that. I also have auto-login enabled, so that shouldn't be a problem.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made. |

There is a known glitch which kills your last read date for all posts from time to time, but it sorts itself out quickly and within 2 weeks everything is completely back to normal so it is a low priority fix for me at the moment.
As for redbeard's bug that is behaviour as expected - it is easier to default to the first topic in a post than the last and also ensures I dont send anyone far beyond something they have already read in the event of a bug.
