I've found this website and have been watching the presidential approvals. I find it fascinating how similar they are to each other at the same time in their presidency.

Presidential approval comparison, at as close as possible to the same time period. Ford's numbers are ~4 months in (remember he started early). Johnson's has ~1 month additional seasoning for similar reasoning. Post WWII.

President Start Date End Date Approving Disapproving unsure/no data
Barack Obama 6/7/2009 6/9/2009 59 34 7
George Bush 6/8/2001 6/10/2001 55 35 9
Bill Clinton 6/5/1993 6/6/1993 36 49 14
George HW Bush 6/8/1989 6/11/1989 69 14 16
Ronald Reagan 6/5/1981 6/8/1981 58 28 12
James Carter 6/14/1977 6/14/1977 63 17 18
Ford 12/3/1974 12/3/1974 42 41 16
Richard Nixon 6/19/1969 6/24/1969 63 15 21
Johnson 6/11/1964 6/16/1964 74 13 11
Kennedy 6/21/1961 6/21/1961 71 13 14
Eisenhower 5/9/1953 5/14/1953 73 10 15

Post Nixon: George Bush Sr., Jimmy Carter are the high ends of the spectrum at this point in their Presidencies. Clinton the lowest, lower than similar Ford numbers interestingly. Its also interesting that pre nixon,. approval rates through Roosevelt (at least through 1941 the period of the run) are higher at all times at a statistcially significant level. Also interesting that the disapproval rates jump with Bill Clinton. Obama's numbers have dropped into post Nixon ranges at this point. Interesting that Obama and Bush have similar numbers especially the lack of unsure's. They were either loved or hated almost from the beginning of the Presidencies.
