It's one of the old metal models, the new ones aren't out for some time to come, maybe next year.

by old we are talking half way through 2nd edition so like 14+ years ago

The Imperium of Man is able to traverse the Warp with difficulty when their Emperor concentrates from his golden life support machine and lights the way. Unfortunately, because the Emperor has the attention span of the average 5-year-old Pokemon fanboy, this means that many an unfortunate Imperial ship has had the WTF WHERE'D THE LIGHTS GO experience, which in the Warp is invariably fatal.

The Ork Skorcha was released in WD issue 220, which dates from April 1997, twelve years ago.

How long flicking through WD back copies did that take you? Or do you have an index system?

wow-that long. ive been playing too long. but they did release some LoD models around that time. I may be wrong now, as my timing is evidently rubbish!

do you have an index system out of interest?

It's the first WD I bought, mainly because of the excellent Tsagagrad article by a young and beardy Warwick so it sticks to me as to what can be found in that particular issue. I usually google the White Dwarf number for quick info. Sadly GW has pulled their own WD database, making it hard to find certain articles.

that article gives me-dark thoughts. my weapons teams are based on the foxholes and the flamer conversion-got to love it. and the tanks...i genuinly love that article. made me fall in love with guard and the cadian models.
i believe the army was actually ian picstock though Warwick did the board, although i may be wrong. its got high elves on the front hasnt it?need to find it in the shed!

my first WD i bought was 213-the metal scouts, dark angels, etc

I am sitting on 30+ LotD models right now that i just got from a friend in a trade. 10 are painted really nicely and the other 20 are bare metal with still on sprue metal bits. On one hand I don;'t know what to do with that many, and on the other hand... it might be fun to drop 30 in a game sometime.

I play...
