My first post here at Dakka, long time a lurker though. Not the usual color scheme for this mini but I'm quite satisfied with the result. I went for a more dirty leather look on the coat and an attempt at glass on the scythe. Please give feedback and criticism I need to develop so any pointers and tips would be great.

Very nice model ideed, like the hightlights on the chest and glowing effect on the scythe.... The face reminds me of the painting by Edward Munch "the cry".

Too bad I will kill him every time with my freasly painted DP...muhahaha..... You can only hope for a new codex for the Necrons...

VERY nice! Are you using the macro function on your digital camera? Some of the pics look a lil blurry. Love the freehand on the cloak, but seems a little too ostentatious for the nightbringer-might be more fitting on the deceiver. The scythe looks very good, and the skin is perfect! Just how a metal zombie vampire god should look like.

@freaky angel: Yes I'm using the macro function but this is the first try at actually making any decent pics of my minis so I probably need some refined techniques here. Regarding the pattern being more befitting of the Deceiver I think youre right but he's still a vampire star god so who's to tell him he put on the wrong robe

The pictures could be better. But it is really evident that you went all out on this model. The DETAIL on the HEM! The BLENDING! I hope you can get a better pic at some point. This Nightbringer seems as if it is a masterwork. I'd love a better look at it.

Regarding the photos, try using the landscape setting on your camera instead of macro. It should set the aperture to a higher setting, increasing the depth of field.

If you can you should try and use ambient lighting as mush as possible. Refrain from using the camera flash as it'll give you inconsistent results depending on how and where you hold the camera.

It's more and more apparant that I really need to dig up some dough and get my Vendetta squadron. Between this and marbos DP. Ooofff.

LOVE the scythe! Like it's been said the detail work is awesome! Especially on the hem, really like that. Very different from other NB's I've seen so far and I really like it!
