What is best way to deal with him using the Eldar forces? Mainly at the 2500 point army level.
I'm assuming I will see many of him at 'Ard Boyz. Just looking for opinions.

Cheat! That's what eldar are good at. Use a fortune/dooming eldar jetbike seer council and kill him.

That being said, I'll still give you a 0 if you bring more than 5 eldar skimmers. Don't be that guy.
Also, strippers. |

What my thought was, too.
I plan on using x2 10 Warlock councils in the 'Ard boyz.

Seer councils are tough as nails and always a good choice. War Walkers with Scatter Lasers also work magnificently.

Yup, either hit him with your own tough as nails unit, or kill him with massive amout of small arms fire. He eventually will roll 's.

I think that it might just be a waste of firepower to shoot at him. You're faster than him, so he's not a threat (Hes not that great at ranged combat).

Congratulations, your dismissive and conclusory commentary has provided nothing to this discussion or the wider community on whose behalf you arrogantly presume to speak nor does it engage in any meaningful way the remark it lamely targets. But you did manage to gain experience points toward your next level of internet tough guy. |

So if we run the numbers, a squad of 10 Seers (w/or without jetbikes) will do 20 attacks, will hit 10 times, and do 8.33 wounds. With a 2+ save 1.38 wounds will get through, and then he will end up with .69 wounds after FNP. Note: Since they wound on a 2+ Doom will only increase the damage to .81 unsaved damage.
Unless you have power weapons, you can't get through a 2+ save.
The best way to kill him is to shoot him with high strength AP1/2 weapons. Unless it is a huge squad, Fire Dragons will hurt him, but not kill him. Star Cannons are a great way to kill him if you have enough of them. A guided falcon if it has a star cannon or a bright lance will kill him in a couple of turns. War Walkers armed with AP 2 weapons will put a hurting on him.
I tried to find a good way Eldar can kill him in assault, and they will struggle to not only get through his saves, but his weapon skill, and toughness 5 slows down Eldar with their strength 3. Not only that, but he will destroy any assault unit if he gets a chance to swing on them.
My first thought is that 10 Banshees on the charge might do the job, but after I run the numbers, they can't. They do .8 wounds after his saves, and a little more if he is Doomed and then he will wipe out the banshees.
Maybe 4 Shining Spears + Exarch can do it, but on the charge they do 1.95 unsaved wounds, and with Doom they do 2.5 unsaved wounds. Not too bad if he is already wounded, but he will wipe out the squad simultaneously that costs about the same as him.
In IMO the only way to take him on would be to hit him with an Avatar with Fortune. Do to the Avatars stats he can stand up to Abaddon. He may or may not win, but he will at least tie him up for a while.

20 attacks, 10 hit, 350/36 (10x(5/6+(1/6 X 5/6)) means about 9.7 wounds, 9.7/6= 1.616 wounds, and Abaddon doesn't have Feel No Pain. This is of course, assuming the jetbike council did not charge, in which case they would add 50%.
So, on the charge, they'll get 2-3 wounds on him. That's enough that a bit of shooting before-hand will have him dead.

That council charge inflicting 1.6 wounds is forgetting about a few things. One is that abbadon has I 6, so even with rerolled saves he will often have killed two of the warloks before they get to swing. Another is that its not going to be too easy to catch abbadon standing all alone by himself, to get that full charge onto just him.
If you are counting on a cc unit to beat abbadon, try a jet council with a jet autarch. Six str6 power weapon attacks on the charge at I7 (embolden) have a real shot at doing some damage.
Altho myself I would probably try and go the shooting angle first, guided warwalkers with scatter lasers to weaken abbadon's squad, a prism small blast or two, then a squad of 10 fire dragons from a serpent with BL. This would probably require the least specialized list, since the walkers, prism and smaller dragon unit are in many lists as is.

Why does my eldar army run three fire prisms? Because the rules wont let me use four in (regular 40k). |

I dealt with abbadon quite neatly in a game tonight. I ran away from him, shot him with melta guns and stayed on the other side of diff terrain. poor guy never landed a swing.
(no I was not playing against a "noob" or anything like that)
